not bad but slow

Slow pace on the weekend and no marshals. Watched the incredibly slow foursome ahead of us hitting 2 and even sometimes 3 mulligans in a row shot after shot. Otherwise the course was OK.

Going a bit downhill

Since this is the last year they are running the course it seems like they are letting things go a bit. Played in the early AM and it had obviously just been cut, but they left the cut grass everywhere (including big globs of cut grass all over the greens). Between that and the maintenance guys with chain saws and loud vehicles it wasn't the most pleasant round I've played, but it was a super hot deal so I can't complain too loudly.

Still Pretty Rough

I know that you can't expect much from a municipal course most of the time, but this one is still in particularly rough shape. The greens are very hit and miss (mostly miss) with large sections of many greens almost un-puttable due to all the pitting, un-repaired ball marks, etc. The fairways are very patchy at best and even the first cut is very tough to hit from most of the time -- there is more clover than grass on a lot of holes and trying to hit out of 2-3 inch deep clover is not my idea of a good time. The first cut off of most of the greens were deep enough that it was very easy to lose balls in them! I made the mistake of going back to this course today after having a pretty bad experience about a month ago, thinking that they should have gotten most things fixed up by this point. I was wrong. I don't think I'll be giving this course any more of my money. There are much better options in the area for the same $$.

Good Course

Great day playing, it was really quiet at the course that day (I think it was just good timing on my part as the pro shop person told me a big tournament was starting later in the day). All-in-all course was in pretty good condition, and in fact much better than most of the other courses in the area. Greens were great, fairways were great, tee boxes a little chewed up but workable. Nice course layout and decent greens. Good value for the money, will not hesitate to go back again.

Rough Shape

First time playing this course, got a last minute deal through Golfnow. I know it's a municipal course and that we shouldn't really expect that much from it ... but boy were things in terrible shape. There were some fairways that had almost no green coloring to them at all, it was like -- well I take that back -- it WAS hitting from hard pack. At one point I hit a tiny bit fat and felt my wrist make a sickly popping sound. From then on I just moved my ball to something that was at least semi-hittable. The greens were in terrible terrible shape, I'm uploading a picture of what the 18th "green" looked like. Most of the greens were pretty similar and none were particularly puttable. The only green that looked moderately decent at all was closed (and there was a really poor temporary green in place which made it a 110 yard hole).

First and last time I'll be playing this course, deal or no deal.

Nice Course, Friendly Staff

First time playing this course, just visiting on a business trip and had a day off to get a round in. Staff was great, course was in good shape (especially considering the weather they have had lately). Played as a single for most of the course but paired up for the last 3-4 holes. The last two holes are spectacular (as the reviews stated). Very happy and would play here again if the opportunity presented itself. Had lunch in the clubhouse after the round and it was very good. Even waiting around on the last few holes (having caught up to a couple of foursomes and pairing up with another single) we still managed to finish the course in 3 hours (riding).

Badly needs a marshall, pace was unbearable

The course itself is a bit odd in layout but I could get over that if it wasn't for the fact that they seem to try and jam as many players as possible as fast as possible onto the course but don't really do anything about enforcing a decent pace of play. We were stuck behind a threesome (actually we were two groups behind them) who were all over the map. 8+ practice swings before each shot, stopping to chat with buddies after the practice swings (and then doing them again), hitting poorly off the tee so they hit 2-3 balls before they decided it was ok to continue, waiting for the twosome ahead of them to completely clear the par 5 hole before teeing off, yelling loudly at their buddies who are 50 years away while people around them are trying to shoot, etc.

Now don't get me wrong, everyone has to learn (I'm fairly new to the sport myself), but not at the expense of holding up everyone behind you. It's bad enough that they are pushing out groups at a pace of every 6 minutes or so (and on a course with so many short holes this makes for a big pile up), but they really, really, need to have someone out there telling those types of groups to pick things up. No one wants to arrive at the next tee box and then have to wait for two groups ahead of you to tee off before you get up there, and sadly I think we had to wait at almost every tee box on the entire course.

We almost walked off the course and asked for a refund at the 4th hole. It was well over an hour after our tee time and we were still waiting to tee off at the 4th hole (and the first three are all very short, fast holes!) but my playing partner and I decided to stick it out. It took us over 5 hours to complete this 18 hole executive course. On the 18th hole the party behind us (who I guess were tired of waiting) ended up driving their cart right in front of us (across the tee box) while we were trying to tee off! I don't know if it was ignorance or anger that made them do it -- they didn't speak english and didn't even acknowledge us when we asked them to not drive on the tee box.

Needless to say I won't be returning to this course, ever.

Needs some work

I didn't find it to be a great value for the price here, even getting a reasonable discount booking through golfnow. The greens, while challenging in terms of layout, left quite a lot to be desired when it came to the maintenance and were reminiscent of what you would find on much less expensive courses. Some greens were better taken care of than others, but most had dozens of un-repaired ball marks that seemed to have been long-ignored judging from the look of them. The tee boxes were also in pretty terrible shape for the most part as well.

The course had a reasonable layout and the holes were fairly challenging (some more than others). The way-finding needs some definite work. The greens were challenging both due to their layout and their iffy condition and there were bunkers, bunkers, bunkers (and apparently they had removed a lot of them recently).

In my round we were stuck between a super-slow foursome in front of us -- who were late starting on their tee time and threw off all of us following them -- and a super-speedy foursome behind us (that seemed polite enough but were definitely pushing us). The Marshall was fairly present and asking question of us (possibly because the foursome behind us were complaining about the slowdowns) but didn't seem to be able to light a fire under the foursome ahead of us, who we had to wait for at the majority of holes while they chatted around the greens.

I won't be in a hurry to return to this course but I've certainly played course in worse condition. I didn't find it a great value due to the iffy green conditions and slow play.

Great Exec Course

Very well maintained, courteous staff and an overall pleasure to play. It took my party of two four hours to play, but we are not the fastest golfers, fast golfers could likely do it in 3.5 hours or less. Quite a lot of short par 3's but well thought out and still challenging. Will be back again (and again and again) I'm sure.
