First time on this course. While I expected tees, fairways, and greens to be over seeded, the greens rolled true and had some speed to them .

Bunkers were a little thin on sand but well maintained. Holes had a nice variety of dog legs going right and left.

I will come back next time in HHI!

Shorter course but played longer. Wet due to rains but staff did a nice job setting up ropes to divert carts away from soggy areas. Can be tight but scoring opportunities there too.
Very pleasant staff. Large range.

Recently became semi-private and the day I played was members only in the morning with tee times available in the afternoon, which was fine. My wife rode in the cart as we started at 12:30 and finished at 3:30, playing through one group on the 3rd hole. Didn't see anyone else until much later and only had to wait briefly.
Staff was pleasant. No one was at the bag drop, but I did find a cart with my name and tee time on the front.
Front nine is tight through trees with bunkers strategically placed at the doglegs and at the end of the the fairway to give good depth perception. Back nine opens up a bit. Greens generally slope back to front and putted very well...true and medium speed.
There is a nice view of the ocean off the 14th fairway.
Had lunch before the round and food was good. A private club feel and will come back!

A very nice course, challenging yet fair. The course was wet so it was cart paths only but that was okay. I was a single, so they paired with me with another single and we had an enjoyable round.
The 12th is the signature hole for good reason. Very picturesque! The only possible funky hole might be the 10th, where there is little room for the second shot on this par-5.
Very nice facilities and there was a guide to key holes on the back if the scorecard.

As a visitor to HHI, I would recommend this course. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. The course gets and keeps your attention. You can play from off the fairway on most holes, but accuracy is rewarded. The overseeded rye greens are sticky and a bit on the slow side but roll true. I would like to see how they putt during summer.

I was out early in a threesome and finished in 3:15 and took advantage of the replay rate of $35 with a $10 lunch voucher. The afternoon round took about 4:20 and that was with waiting on several holes.

With the Hot Deal and replay rates, I paid less for 36 holes at Old South than I would have for one round on the island. I look forward to coming back!
