Oak Hills Golf Club
Played On 06/01/2019Wonderful Day of Golf
Pace of play was good. Course is in very good condition. Tough greens. The back nine is really tough if you don't play the course often. The par 3's are memorable and have variety. A lot of the greens are either elevated or guarded by a creek. Pretty wide open to drive the ball. Course is in good condition--comparable to Linrick (but less shaggy), Northwoods, Timberlake. No rough on the course which is good for your average golfer. I will definitely return as soon as possible.

This is an old course and you can tell from the second you park. The clubhouse and locker room are so cool with all kinds of golf history and memorabilia. Staff were extremely helpful and kind. The course is in excellent shape. Reminded me of Augusta, Pinehurst as far as some aesthetics and stylings of the course, of course in a much less high profile manner. Just soil and greens, sandy rough areas; really memorable green complex on each hole. Each hole offered a good chance to score, but also memorable shots and green complexes on every single hole. Really a steal--definitely walk if you can.
J. E. Good Park Golf Course
Played On 06/20/2015Beautiful Ohio Golf
Good Park is a classic and really fun to play. It is long and tight with huge trees. Greens were in perfect shape. Fairways and rough were immaculate. For a municipal course what more could you want? This is also a really tough course. Many challenging holes that will test even the expert's game. Love this place and I would recommend it to anyone in the area.
Golden Hills Country Club

Really like the classy clubhouse here with it's iconic (in my mind anywho) silos. Some really pretty holes and very beautiful in the fall. I really like the front 9. There is a lot of out of bounds on the course (residential) and there is a sewage plant next to the 13th hole. Those are cons, but the greens are very fast and difficult. The course is in pretty good shape. Strategy in play off of many tee shots. Pace of play can be like molasses but I'd definitely recommend this course.

This is always an excellent option. It is a municipal course and crowded Saturday morning, but otherwise never have many complaints. Greens weren't in great shape this month--very soggy and sandy, but usually they aren't bad. Course is very challenging--especially the last 5 holes with a lot of up and down elevation. They are the best holes on the course as well. Fairways are generous and you can shoot a good score here, but course is challenging all the same and that's what I like about it. The long bermuda rough ate me alive today. Must play if you are in the area.
Cobblestone Park Golf Club - Garnet Course
Played On 10/09/2014Classic Experience
You can tell this used to be a private club when you arrive through a security gate. This course has many cool holes. We played the garnet/gold nines. The greens are very quick and in great condition. Smallish greens, guarded by Augusta-like bunkers. Some holes have cool sandy waste areas like the famous Pine Valley. Good variety of holes--just a cool overall design. I don't think it is quite my favorite layout in Columbia, but definitely near the top. Everything was in great condition. Their practice facilities and clubhouse are awesome. If you want to have a really nice round, Cobblestone is the place.
Northwoods Golf Course
Played On 10/04/2014Exciting Course
One of the best if not the best designed course in the Columbia area. Great deal for the price. I recommend this course if you want to have a fun round and won't be too bothered that the greens are patchy and in poor shape. The rest of the course is in very good condition, especially the fairways; it's just the greens need re-grassed. It's a PB Dye course, so it has some exciting shots you will get to hit. A few holes have big mounds with cool blind shots...just a good test of your game. A good variation of holes and not a huge amount of elevation change. If you aren't a snob and just want to have fun this is a good choice. I played after downpour last night and many bunkers had pools of water in them. If they raked the bunkers, did better with the greens, and kept a few other features in better condition I think people would rave about this course.
Indian River Golf Club
Played On 09/20/2014What a blast
This course is a blast, and much different from the other courses in the area because it has such large, undulating greens, and there are so many mounds in the fairway-it's hard to get an even lie. The wind comes into play a good bit since the back nine is open and the little lake kinda creates it. Not terribly long, but made up for with unusual shots from the undulations and hazards. Back nine reminded me a bit of the Ocean Course with wide fairways and all of its undulations and big greens. Course in good condition for the time of year; not a good walking course and pace of play was very slow, but it was Saturday. Weather was perfect. I'd say this is one of the must plays in Columbia.
Timberlake Country Club
Played On 08/30/2014Good Value
Course can be a challenge. Greens can be fast and rough can be very difficult. Layout is beautiful and I really enjoy the views of the lake. A good bit of elevation change. Played the course 3 times in the last month with completely different conditions each time, but course always holds up. Clubhouse and staff are extremely nice. Course condition is pretty good despite the recent lack of rain. Would recommend this course to anyone in Columbia area looking for an interesting round.
Timberlake Country Club
Played On 08/30/2014Great Views on the Lake
I really like this course. Played there 3 times in the last month in varying conditions and the course held up in all of them. Fairways and greens in excellent shape and staff friendliness exceeds my expectations. The new clubhouse is pretty chill as well. When I played on Saturday morning I (and subsequent members of my party) were greeted at our vehicle with a cart. Members and staff seem very knowledgable and friendly. This course can be difficult with many scoring opportunities as well. I think the way they have the ninth green now as a slight dogleg right is an improvement over when the club opened. Really excellent layout with every hole having something memorable to it. Greens can be fast later in the day and the rough can be wicked in the morning. One of the best courses in the midlands in my opinion.
