About

Recently upgraded my to Nike driver, irons and wedge. I always have been told I had a nice swing, but didn't have the tools to play well consistently. Now with the Nike clubs, I'm hitting more fairways, pin-pointed around the greens and the putting is coming along too. I use to swing for the fences, but after attending my first PGA event, that changed everything! Now it's nice and easy!

Good Course just need a little TLC

In all fairness, the overall play on the course is good. There are some wholes that look decieving, but will snap you in if you don't hit a crisp shot. But I think it either rained prior to our play or someone forgot to turn the sprinklers off. The grounds were a little saturated including the greens which were pressed down and fast! But the set up of the course is good and enjoyable! It's a contender for repeat play but would recommend if you are in the area and want to play a semi-challenging course.

Where do I begin.....

Let's start in the proshop. While I love my Louisiana folks, this course was my worst of the year. I want rag on this course because suspect they may be going through a rebuilding phase. I played this course as a suggestion from a co-worker. Note to self, don't take suggestions from co-workers if you have not played with them. The layout is cramped as there are three 9's next to each other. Everyone tees off the middle nine and then chooses which nine to play after that. I think it is Green, Gold and Purple courses. Nevertheless, when I played on the 9th of Dec' 2012, the fairways were like pavement, the greens were not in good shape and the overall condition of the course was not appealling at all. After about 5-6 holes, we really wanted to quit, but we were committed at that point, so it was what it was. While it's just my oppinion, I think the course should shut down for about 2-3 months and really get things together. It should dedicate a 18 with an additional 9 rather than just scatter. It made things hectic when we didn't see where to go. Positives: The cart girl was around a lot. Although I thought the prices were a bit high. A bottle of cola was approaching $3. Also! I think it was the green course #whatever the middle nine is#....that #9 hole was good! The fairway was nice as was the green! So I did have at least one truely positive thing to say!

Great track!

Belle Terre is one of my favorite courses in the area. The staff is always friendly, the greens roll well and there is always water at the water holes. The course itself can be challenging if you get ambitious. However, she gives you chances to recover if you have certain shots in your bag. If you are thinking of playing here...book it! You won't be dissappointed.

Course of the year for me!

First off, kudos to Golfnow.com for getting me a ridiculously low rate for me and my crew! I didn't mind paying the fee once I saw what other's paid after us! Even the proshop attendant stated "great rate". Second, I have played in many states this year because of the nature of my work and Stonebridge was the best thus far. I don't imagine it getting any better than that for the rest of the year. When we pulled up, the marshalls were friendly and gave some insight on the course. Once we the proshop openend, the attendant was friendly as could be. There was even a little book on the carts about the course. #HINT#- as of 11/2012, the books were misprinted. The back nine showed as the front nine and vice versa. Other than that it is a great track with varying distances that will make you second guess. But the greens were awesome, the fairways were plush and I along with my crew really enjoyed this course. Even played the additional 9 holes known as the Harvey 9. If you have the chance, stop by Stonebridge. It is definately worth the drive!

Hidden Gem destined to be a diamond one day!

From what I understand, this course is going through an imporvement phase. But that's not to say it's in bad shape right now! It's a fun track that twist and turns in a neighborhood. But hit either way but straight, and you might find yourself in a less than difficult lye! Nevertheless, it's a fun course and great value for the cost. I imagine they may increase in the future, but before then, the greens will need a little work. The fairways are in good shape, but the greens were a little soft almost mossy like. I imagine its from the area, but once that gets under control it will be a place to play during your stay in the Big Easy! Don't forget to stop by the kitchen....the food is really good!
