Misleading

Starfire has 3, 9 hole courses. One of these courses is a short par 3 course. When you book a tee time at Starfire, you are not told what course you will be playing, even though you pay one rate for play. If you play the Hawk and the King course, it's a nice round on a full golf course. But, if you get stuck on what used to be the Squire course, which is now the Mulligan course, you do not get a full round. I booked a tee time and paid full price, only to find out that I was on the newer Mulligan course to start, then finishing on the King course. I basically paid full price to play and executive length golf course. I was very disappointed. In the future, I will be very hesitant in booking at Starfire in fear of getting ripped off by being put on a par 3 course instead of a full length, real golf course.

A great, yet challenging round of golf.

The course was in great condition for the summer. Usually, the summers in AZ, dry out all the courses. The greens are dry and hard, and the fairways are burned out.
This course was the opposite. The greens were responsive, and well watered. The fairways were also pretty green. A few dry spots here and there, but in 108 degree weather, what can you do?
The pace of play was a little slow. Mainly because it's a resort course, and there are a lot of tourist. The course is more difficult that you average course, and many people don't seem prepared for that.
Overall, it was a great round. The staff is very nice, and very organized, which I love. I've been to courses, even higher end country club type courses, where there isn't even a starter, and people are unsure of when to tee off. This place has it all together. I would definitely return here again.
