Legacy Hills Golf Club
Played On 03/25/2024Great golf, great people.
This is one of the best values in the area. The front nine is a par 37 designed on a nice parcel of land. It is surrounded by houses but there is plenty of room to keep it in play. The back nine is the newer of the two nines. There are different grasses on each nine and there are plenty of birdie chances if you play the appropriate tees for your handicap.
The greens roll well even early in the season and the grass has come up nicely this year.
It is a fun layout and you will want to come back often.
Tatum Ridge Golf Links
Played On 02/22/2024Nice improvement from a couple o years ago
This was my first time playing here, however my playing partner played it a couple of years ago and it was a cow pasture then.
New owners have come in and it has improved dramatically from where it was 3 years ago.
Tee boxes and fairways had been overseeded and the greens were pretty good considering its February and they probably get 250-300 rounds a day pass through them.
Tee times are stacked tightly and we went off at 9:00 AM and finished in 4:30 minutes.
Course was fairly priced for the market its in.
Overall it was a fun day.
If you previously played here a couple of years ago, give it another shot it you wont be disappointed.

Played On 02/21/2024Decent mid priced publixc course
Played on a gorgeous February day. Our tee time was 12:45 and they sent us of a couple minutes early on.y to hit a log jam on hole 2. For some players it’s a driveable par 4 and many people try and fail which slows down play for a couple of holes. Other than that there is water in play on most holes for errantly struck shots,
The greens had some rough areas and they put the holes in the worst parts of the green which also slowed down play.
Overall the staff couldn’t have been friendlier and the rangers were out of the course trying to keep playmmoving along but we still had a 4:46 minute round for our four some.
The sand in traps was ok and tee boxes and fairways are slightly above average for a public course that’ gets plenty of play.
Bobby Jones Golf Club - Championship Course
Played On 02/20/2024A fun course. Best greens in area.
Played early AM, our tee time was 7:45 and we didn’t go off until 7:55. It certainly gets a lot of play, they are certainly organized and try to keep folks moving. We got our round in 4:15 but there were plenty of hit and wait moments. They have tee times spaced at 7 minutes which is just too close. The course is fairly wide open so most errant shots can be still found and played without a penalty.
Greens were fantastic the sand in traps was mica sand so it was easy to get out of them.
Staff couldn’t have been nicer which offset any other issues.

Played On 09/12/2023The Legacy at Hastings
Played On 09/08/2023100 year old track carved out of hardwoods and hilly terrain
First time playing course, overall grooming of course was very nice. A little more sand in the bunkers and if they were not so hard would have made the course even better,
All greens rolled very nicely and speed was perfect for amount of slope on greens.
If you are not used to playing hilly courses then you will find this course very challenging, especially if you stray from the fairways. There are several blind shots on course but they do have adequate bells in proper places to alert fellow golfers when you have cleared the area,
Not overly tight but you need to find the fairways to score, most greens are pushed up but they will accept well hit shots.
The folks in club house couldn’t have been friendlier, they also provided helpful hints on how to play this fun, well maintained course,
Overall a very pleasant day.

Played On 08/10/2023Very nice municipal golf course
The city of South Bend does a real nice job with the courses they manage,
The greens were very fast and rolled nicely. While there is not a lot of undulation in the greens there is quite of bit of slope in them. The tee boxes are level and sand traps are well maintained with plenty of sand (but also some small rocks).
The layout is interesting from the white tees it plays a little over 6000 yards but don’t let that fool you. Most par 3’s are 190-220 yards. There are some short par 4’s but they are protected with dog legs and trees so you will use almost every club in your bag.
Overall plenty of challenge and because of the price you will find quite a few beginner golfers and pace of play could be an issue if there is not a ranger keeping those players moving or explaining the proper etiquette to let faster players play through them,
Overall a very pleasant experience for us.
Thank you for visiting us at Erskine Park Golf Club. We appreciate your positive rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
East at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort
Played On 07/10/2023Just what you would expect for a golf resort, just lacking GPS on carts.
Nicely groomed track. Not long but plenty of trouble to navigate around. There are a few blind holes and if you have never played it really need to drive down fairway before teeing off. You will also want to make sure it’s clear to hit as some of the landing areas are blind from tee and you do not want to hit into any other groups.
One of the things that one would expect at a golf resort is GPS on the carts. Luckily I have a very good app on my phone that shows where the trouble is. I bought a bushnell watch for about a $100 and they offer an app for your phone to pair with watch. I just leave the watch at home and use the app on my phone.
Fun layout, plenty of hills and lots of slope on most of the greens. The sand traps were decent and tee boxes and greens all in great shape,

Played On 06/19/2023Elbel Park Golf Course
Played On 06/12/2023Nice course with lots of wildlife
This course is located close to a marsh and you can see quite a bit of wild life. Today we saw a pair of sand hill cranes, several deer. And lots of geese. The issue with the geese is they leave poop all over the golf course. We haven’t had measurable rainfall in quite some time which means the grass is not growing as quickly and there is an abundance of goose poo everywhere.
I would give the course 5 stars if they somehow could make it so every step you take you didn’t have to worry about getting a bunch of bad news wedged in your golf cleats.
Overall tee boxes and greens were in really good shape (other than all of the poo),
It’s a great value on a golf now not deal time, if you can snag one of these I would highly recommend giving this muni a try.
Thank you for leaving a detailed review about your recent experience at our golf course. We appreciate your kind words about our tee boxes and greens. We hope to see you back again soon!

Played On 05/16/2023Fun well maintained executive course
This course is a great place to work on short game. 6 par 3’s and 3 par 4’s on both sides. The course was in great shape with exception of tee boxes which were a bit sparse with grass.
If you are looking for a place to tune up your short game or if you are new to the game this is a great option. The greens roll really nice and the fairways, and rough are lush and well kept.
Fun place and not too busy make it a great choice.

Played On 05/09/2023Fun fantastic well run municipal course
Played mid morning on a perfect weekday morning. Tee boxes, greens and traps all in great shape. The course was still drying out from precious couple of days of rain, they had wet areas well marked so staying dry wasn’t an issue. A couple of mud balls, but course was lush and grass was thick in rough and very nice in fairways.
The folks who maintain this course care about conditions and it shows. We had several foursomes in front of us but pace was decent as we finished in 3:45.
Keep up the great work guys, staff was also welcoming.
Swan Lake Resort - Silver Course
Played On 05/04/2023Nice track out in middle of nowhere.
Very nicely groomed and fun track. Great value on hot deal from Golf now. There is not a better bang for your buck than this place. Course was in great shape, well maintained in all aspects. Greens smooth and comfortably quick. Rough is very this knot better keep grass in the generous fairways.
Harbor Shores
Played On 04/28/2023Great high end track
Course is still recovering from fall Aerating especially the fairways. The greens were rolling well and tee boxes were in good shape, love the sand at harbor shores. It is very consistent and almost easy to play from.
Staff is super friendly and what one expects at a high end venue.
They used to offer community days to local residents but those days are long gone.
Of you get a chance to play here it’s a great value with a hot deal offer from golf now.
Sandy Pines Golf Club
Played On 04/19/2023Nice track out in the middle of no where
Very nice layout. Super quick and smooth greens. Abundance of sand in traps.
Overall very fun to play. Plenty of room off the tees, just be sure to play the correct tee for your handicap and you will have a fun time.
Home #2 is a tough par 5 since there is a blind tee shot into a sloped fairway. 2nd shot is just as tough since you will likely have a downhill/ side hill lie. Laying up is the best option as green is guarded by water and several sand traps.
There are some target golf shots and you will likely use every club in your bag.
Hats off to greenskeeper and staff. Have played this course several times and it’s always in great shape regardless of the season.
Crooked Tree Golf Course
Played On 03/17/2023Nice value where locals play
This was a nice find on my visit to Tucson. The course is a very traditional layout with plenty of room off the tees. In most areas of the course if you don’t find the fairway it rolls into the native desert area and you can find your ball fairly easily. Just be sure you have a ball retriever as you never want to reach down with your hand and encounter a rattle snake of scorpion by accident.
Pace of play was very nice we got around on a very busy day in 3:45 minutes. They overseeded all of the sand traps which at first I was hesitant, but the grass in traps was very lush and if your ball finds one of these areas the ball is almost teed up and provides a decent lie. Two benefits, it speeds up play and also saves your clubs from getting nicked up which is common in many desert golf courses. It really makes a lot of sense to do this, when they do get rain in desert the sand in traps is easily washed away or when they get higher winds with low humidity sand disappears and sand in most desert courses shallow and filled with pebbles and rocks.
All of the tees and greens were in very nice shape. Plenty of grass and will accept decent shots from fairways and not bounce off. These greens rolled well but were very slow in comparison to other courses the area. Left several putts really short.
Other than that plenty to like about course. Plenty of good vistas of surrounding mountains and course is flat so it is an easy course to walk. The holes are spread out far enough that other groups errant shots don’t end up in your hole.
Best value for the $ in Tucson area.
SaddleBrooke Ranch Golf Club
Played On 03/15/2023Nice desert course out in foothills of Mount Lemmon
Nicely groomed dessert course in planned housing development.
Nicely groomed desert course. This course was overseeded with rye grass that came in very nicely. The course is very nicely maintained, all tee boxes, and greens were very nice and had plenty of grass and decent speeds. The traps were also well maintained, plenty of sand in traps with rakes placed near every trap. Kudos to greenskeeper and staff they keep the course in tip top shape.
The clubhouse is stocked with a decent amount of clothing and there are water stations (with ice at clubhouse) to keep yourself hydrated during round. The carts do not have GPS but they are clean and comfortable.
The course does wind through the desert as well as some neighborhoods. The houses are NOT in play so you really don’t have to worry about errant tee shots finding their way into houses or yards. Not saying it’s impossible to hit one but you would have to be a REALLY bad golfer to have one of these come into play.
Pace of play was very good. We went off early and finished in under 3 hours as a twosome, we had the course to ourselves (probably because it was chilly in the fifties and we did have to dodge some raindrops during our round).
A very fairly mid priced course in Saddlebrook housing development. Decent views of nearby mountains and you can literally see for miles and miles as it’s about 4000 feet in elevation. Plan an extra 10% per club for carry and roll out in fairways.
I enjoyed it and you will not be disappointed if you give this course a shot.
Sewailo Golf Club
Played On 03/14/2023Nice resort target golf course
This course is a nicely groomed desert course. We played in early March and the overseeded rye grass came in nicely. It is definitely a target golf course off the tee. We played 6100 yard layout and off the tee for par fours and fives used almost every club between Driver and 6 iron. There is a ton of water that comes into play along with some desert washes that cannot be carried with driver which makes most par 5’s true 3 shot holes. Some of the fairways tilt towards water so what you think was a good shot rolled out into the hazards. When we played the fairways were hard and bouncy. Most of the greens were receptive to well stuck iron shots but they were firm, fast and rolled well.
It is desert golf on a fairly flat plot of land.
Fun to play the second time you play because you will remember the way the ball rolls out. When in doubt take a club or two less than what you would normally play.
Welcoming staff and cart crew.
Overall a fun day.
The Club at Starr Pass - Rattler/Coyote
Played On 03/13/2023One of the best courses in Tucson for wildlife and beautiful Vistas.
Very nice Tucson area golf course. Great vistas and plenty of wildlife. The greens were very fast but playing later in day they were fairly bumpy due to earlier groups not repairing pitch marks.
The greens were extremely fast and hard. Any short iron shots would not hold green and would release over the green. I believe they actually dye the greens with emerald green dye as the grass is a little thin on greens. The fairways are overseeded and played very fast as well. The dormant grass off fairways was hard pan and balls errant tee shots would roll off into desert fairly quickly.
During our afternoon round we saw roadrunners, bunnies and a group of about 12 wild pigs near the green in the desert on hole 12.
One thing about layout is the routing from at the turn from 9 green to 10 tee box you are about a mile away from clubhouse so make sure to bring your own snacks and Gatorade in your golf bag. There are a few rest rooms and porta potties on course if you need them.
There are some changes in elevation and many holes have beautiful vistas looking towards downtown Tucson.
We also saw several Military fighter jets on their way to do maneuvers and probably saw and heard the jets on more than half the holes, very cool if you enjoy seeing that type of thing.
Fun golf course, if you can get a hot deal time
It’s a very good value for the nicely manicured desert course. Plenty of saguaro.and prickly pear cactus along with other desert plants .
Very enjoyable round we got around in 3:30 minutes as a threesome so pace of play was very good for us.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave an excellent rating! We really appreciate your business. Thanks for choosing Erskine Park Golf Club!
