TPC Sawgrass - THE PLAYERS Stadium Course
Played On 07/12/2015Pick another one for your Bucket.
Most horrible set up to enjoy this beautiful course. They have cart path only rule year round (even in this Florida heat) and maintain 6" inch rough for the public. Twice as long than pros play and greens were grainy and inconsistent. Took a group of 20 out on last Sunday and no one enjoyed. Two people left after just 7 holes with possible heat stroke. I can't believe they insist on cart path only when the course was dry and firm. Continually had to bring a number of clubs all the way across the fairway - then you could barely advance the ball - if you even found it in the rough.
It's a shame, as this is on so many players bucket list - and rightly so. The course is amazing, it's just not a User Friendly atmosphere. The marshal would tell us we weren't keeping up with the group in front. Well duh - they were a 3some. Pace of play would have been so much quicker if it wasn't cart path only. It's a resort course and that's where they make their money. Why wouldn't they make it more enjoyable for all of us poor schmucks that pay for this place to operate and make it more difficult when the Pros play here??? This is my 3rd time playing and I've had the same experience every time. No more.
Play somewhere else and enjoy relaxed golf, not worth the money.
The Country Club at Deer Run
Played On 12/26/2014Not what I would call a Country Club...
First time playing here and after reading reviews, figured I'd give it a shot. Plenty of rain the days before left the place soaked, but playable (except bunkers). Greens were in very good shape and rolled nicely. Place was packed out, so it was a 5 hour round. Much too long for a short(er) course. Playing from the tips provided some nice long Par 3's & 5's. Being somewhat of a purist of the game, I was disappointed in the lack of respect for the dress code. Cutoffs, camo, and bike week t-shirts are not "Country Club" attire.
However, the course was decent and the pro was friendly and accommodating. Good value for the money.
LPGA International - Hills Course
Played On 07/11/2014A Gem of a course
First time on the Hills course. Great conditions - greens could have been a bit quicker, but rolled perfect. The cart GPS was awesome - very helpful and user friendly. Beauty of a course - just golf. No homes, nice scenery, etc. Only downfall was that you couldn't see the bottom of the pin on any hole. Either elevated green or mounding guarding the green. That's where the GPS came in handy though! Big wide fairways, but don't miss em - the rough is tough! Worth the 1:15 minute drive though! Will go back.
Cimarrone Golf Club
Played On 10/20/2013One of my favorite courses
Love this track. Water on every hole. Course was in great condition. Greens can be sketchy here, but they were awesome staff was great, but never realized Bud Light Lime was an import! Had to laugh at that. Good golf, good friends, great weather.
LPGA International - Jones Course
Played On 10/4/2013Great Greens!
I found a "Hot Deal" for this course - couldn't beat the price and always wanted to find an excuse to go down and play it. Course is wide open, but all the bunkers do provide a challenge. I typically judge a course by the condition of the greens, so that is why I give this course a 5 Star. Rolled true and fast. Fairways/tee boxes, everything was in perfect shape.
Cart girl was friendly and the GPS on the cart was an added bonus. Great feature and easy to use. Will surely go back.
Magnolia Point Golf & Country Club
Played On 6/28/2013First time - pleasurable experience.
I had always wanted to play here, so I booked a morning time. No real bargain. The course was surprisingly fun. Loved the elevation changes and conditions were decent. Greens were coming back, but still a little slow for my taste. I will definitely come back though.
