Roy Kizer Golf Course
Played On 08/30/2019Greens
As usual the staff was friendly and the course reasonably challenging Fairways were in good shape for the middle of summer . The only negative was that the greens were being seeded and where sandy . It would be nice to know so we might have chosen Jimmy Clay or Pllum
Northcliffe Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/16/2017Unplayable greens
We thought we would try the course again after a couple of bad experiences due to course conditions. In the fairways lakes of "casual water dotted the course . Huge ditches of mud made any shot probable at best. Grass in the fairways was non existent or unrecognizable . The greens were the worst! The had warned us the had. Even attacked by some kind of fungus but nothing could prepare me for this . Huge bare spits of hard pan broken up by tufts of weeds that altered any put.
The staff as usual were friendly and helpful. The facilities are clean and adequate.
But even at $20 the course was an unplayable disaster.
What a shame because while a bit long the actual lay out could be fun.
Couldn't recommend
Landa Park Municipal Golf Course
Played On 01/11/2017Disappointing
I had waited quite awhile to play Landa park. It will be quite awhile before I play it again. The staff at the pro shop was quite friendly and helpful , the carts were clean and close . The course itself was a huge disappointment. Lots of water and confusing , as though 18 holes were crammed into a too small space. Tons of sand positioned randomly making the green unnecessarily hard to reach.
All that could have been chalked up as an attempt to make a short course challenging if not for the fairways or lack their of. Basically the fairways consisted of spray painted dirt. Patchy and the grass on the fairway seemed no different from the rough. As a high handicapper hard pan is quite challenging. The greens were patchy as well. Over all a big disappointment!
Vaaler Creek Golf Club
Played On 05/06/2016Pace of play , staff indifference , problems with carts outweighed the quality of the course
While the course itself was in great shape and challenging as a first time player it was confusing . The tee boxes were hard to figure, distance markers on the course we're hard to find. The high tec cart was sporadic in performance . The marshals are called " ambassadors "and we're nowhere to be found. At the turn 3 groups were waiting !! Obviously delusions of grandeur . Everyone hurried us along as a tourney was teeing off. The pins were all hidden and tucked because of this. Beautiful course understaffed , undertrained, and unnecessarily hard
Quail Creek Country Club
Played On 10/17/2014Great value for the money
I was able to nab18 holes for $13. I've played the course many times and was a member back in the late 90's. The course is challenging for an average golfer like myself but still enjoyable for the better golfer in our group. The first 13 holes are in great shape while a few fairways in the back have bare spots. The staff is as friendly as any I've encountered. I would definitely recommend and will play it again soon!
