The Golf Club At Oxford Greens
Played On 06/24/2016Enjoyable round of golf at Oxford Greens
The Oxford Greens Golf Course was in great shape, and the weather was beautiful during my late morning round of golf. I was pleasantly greeted by a cart attendant upon my arrival, and directed me to the pro shop for checkin. The Pro Shop employee was also friendly and informative. He provided some basic information regarding the course layout, and welcomed us to Oxford Greens. The on-duty starter was very personable, accommodating, and very professional.. I played from the blue tees and found the course both challenging and well maintained. I especially like the quick greens and well kept fairways. The course is narrow and requires you to stay in the fairway for a par or better. The course played well, but the greens were hard and difficult to hold. Overall, it is a great course with a friendly staff, and fun to play.
Blackledge Country Club - Gilead Highlands
Played On 10/28/2013The course is both challenging and enjoyable to play
The Gilead Highlands Course at the Blackledge Country Club is my first golf experience living in Connecticut since my recent relocation from Northern Virginia. The Gilead Highlands Course is a par 72 course that provided an enjoyable and challenging round of golf in a countryside setting. The course was in excellent condition for the Fall season, and the greens were fast and well maintained. I was impressed with the friendly and accommodating nature of both Golf Professional John and starter Dave at the Gilead Highlands Course. I would recommend this course to everyone seeking an pleasurable and memorable day of golf.
Bull Run Golf Club
Played On 04/27/2013This was my first experience playing at the Bull Run Golf Club.
The Bull Run Golf Club provides a country setting golf experinece. I enjoyed the simplicity of the golf course which also proved a few challenging holes. I would have appreciated having a "course yardage guide" since this was my first round of golf at Bull Run GC, but they are no longer available for purchase. The golf club staff was friendly but seemed to be a bit unorganized when we arrived at the course. The club "starter" named Bob was very helpful and provided a good overview of the course. A fun golf experience with enough of a twist to satisfy a low handicapper.
Red/White at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club
Played On 1/13/2013The coures was fun and in great condition for off-season play.
I arrived at the course 20 minutes prior to my tee time, and was nicely greeted by the starter. The Pro Shop staff was very friendly and professional. I was able to complete my round of golf on a steady pace, and finished in just under 3.5 hours. The course was in great shape for January, and the greens were fast and true. A nice change of pace, and the scenery was wonderful.
