Royal St. Cloud Golf Links - Red/White Course
Played On 12/17/2020Nice links feel
Good layout for all levels of play. Greens rolled very well with some sharp breaks and slopes. Course played firm and fast today and I suspect it does all the time. Short hitters will love the roll they get. Pace of play was excellent today. Good value for the money. The smallish greens and slopes will give the low handicap player a fair test. Course conditions were very good. Quite a difference from most of the Orlando area resort type courses which all kind of look the same......water or swamp on one side of the fairway and condos or homes on the other. Highly recommend.
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes
Played On 06/09/2020Nice golf course
First time playing this particular course during a stay on the Island. Long drive from south end of Hilton Head, but worth the trip. Wide fairways, short rough and reasonable green complexes. A good layout for high handicappers, but OK for accomplished golfers as well. Course can stretch out in length for longer hitters. No real forced carries and most of the water is just a visual, not really in play unless you really spray the ball around.
Crescent Pointe Golf Club
Played On 09/19/2019Nice Palmer design
First time playing this course, but not the last. Nice layout and a varied combination of holes. Really good set of par 3's and a course that makes you think. Greens were rolling quite well, at a good speed for amateur golfers and not overly undulating, but not flat either. Range and short game practice area were well appointed. Other reviews have pointed out the cart paths are a bit rough with many sections under repair. But concrete cart paths and the abundance of trees don't always get along. Course is well bunkered and some need a little work, but it looked like it was underway the day we played. Fairways are generous enough and not too much hidden trouble.
Old South Golf Links
Played On 09/16/2019Great views
Have played this course many times in the past and it is always on our list when coming to Hilton Head. Some great views of the marsh looking back towards the island on both nines. Several holes take playing them a couple of times to determine how to play them primarily due to the carry across the marsh or swampy areas. A good combination of straightforward and somewhat challenging holes. Course is in great condition, as it usually is when we play here, although the greens are just a bit soft right now, but rolling OK. As a twosome we played in just over 3 hours on a Monday, so no issues with pace of play.
St. Johns Golf & Country Club
Played On 04/23/2019A fine golf course
Have played this course several times in past years. Still a good NE Florida test. Course played fast and firm due to lack of rain in this area for past several weeks. Greens are fast, so imperative to stay below the hole whenever possible. Not much in the way of hidden trouble, maybe one or two holes. 9th and 18th holes are very good finishing holes and the rest of the course sets up very well.
This used to be a private course, but now available for play by all. Don't know how that will work out going forward. Usually quality goes down somewhat, but only time will tell. My advice would be to play this course soon if you have the opportunity. Certainly the best of the CR 210 corridor courses.
Thank you for your kind words. We appreciate the time you took to leave this review and hope to see you again soon.
The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 12/08/2013Better than expected
We were looking for a course that would be a good experience for the men and the ladies and we found it. The course was in excellent condition and well maintained. Challenging enough for the men, yet playable for the ladies. The pro shop shares space with a deli and is in the middle of a huge parking area, which was a bit unusual. But everyone on staff was very friendly and helpful. We would play this course again given the same group of players.
The only downside is the proximity of the resort units to the fairways. At times we felt like we had a gallery when people were sitting outside on their patios and balconies.
Hunter's Creek Golf Club
Played On 12/07/2013Good course for all levels
Have played this course several times in the past. Greens rolling very well right now. Layout is good and is quite challenging from the longer sets of tees. Typical Florida development type golf course with water in play on some holes. Nice par 5's and par 3's. Kind of long from the forward (red) tees when compared to other courses in the area. Will play again when in the Orlando area.
Golf Club At Fleming Island
Played On 3/12/2013A very nice layout.
Good layout overall. There are several challenging holes from the longer sets of tees. Greens roll nicely. There is a nice combo of blue/white tees on the card for players who want a bit more yardage than the white tees allow.
Country Club of Orange Park
Played On 11/18/2012Good layout, nice range and short game practice area
Greens were sanded but still rolled reasonably true. Course in good condition for mid November in north Florida with lack of recent rainfall. The two of us played in just less than 4 hrs on a Sunday. Will play again in future.
We are glad you enjoyed a perfect golf day at Old South and very much appreciate your repeat business. See you again soon!
