Litchfield Country Club
Played On 07/14/2018Not a bad track, but it is positional golf at its finest
A lot of the holes at Litchfield are the same. 340-380 par 4’s with tight doglegs that don’t allow you to hit driver or fairway wood if you’re a longer hitter. Most holes are iron off the tee to the center, play for position, and hit a mid iron in. That gets a little monotonous after a few holes quite honestly and there’s a few gimmicky par 5’s that basically force you to lay back 300+ yards from the green so going for it in two isn’t an option. The pace for Saturday AM round was great on the first 9 but for some reason the ciurse did simultaneous tee times so they were teeing groups off 10 and the last 10th tee group teed off as we approached 10 tee. We waited every hole on the back 9 because of it. First 9 we played in 1 hour 30 minutes. Second 9 about 2 hours 15 minutes because of the logjam they caused. Wasn’t a fan of that course strategy as no one likes to fly around one 9 and stand there picking daisies the next due to slow play.

What a lovely track with a challenging layout. Almost no holes were flat and it was a tough scoring day with gusts of wind and cold temps never getting over 40 degrees. My only issue was pace of play, we waited a handful of holes and finished around the 5 hour mark, but the greens were pure and fast and the bunkers were well placed on every hole to add another challenge.,
Monroe Country Club

So pure. Club championship day so slower play was expected (4 hours 5 mins for 3some) but it opened up on back 9. Greens lightning quick and true. Every inch of the course was in pristine condition.
The Divide Golf Club
Played On 07/02/2016Punched Greens
Greens were punched. Probably the reason for the cheap Saturday morning rate. Some greens worse than others with sand still covering them. Group in front was real slow, always behind pace of play, told by Ranger on 1 green and picked it up but slowed again on the back nine. Course has been in better shape......
Emerald Lake Golf Club
Played On 07/06/2014Emerald Lake: Sunday 07/06/2014
My gosh I've never seen the greens like this. I've played Emerald Lake a half dozen times and always raved about the beauty and quality of the course. Sunday was an utter disappointment. Greens had a fungus or were poorly handled as they had dead spots throughout the entire surface.
I brought a buddy and we paired up with another twosome on the first tee. We played behind a foursome of two gentleman and two ladies. VERY slow play. 4.5 hours at least it took for us to finish.
Starter fell behind 11 minutes at the first tee and it seemed to be disaster from there.
Course was in good shape besides the greens. Very, very disappointing.
