Viroqua Hills Golf Course

I always enjoy playing Viroqua Hills. It is an interesting very pretty course. It is always in great condition.
The food is inexpensive in the cluybhouse.
Oaks Golf Course at Christmas Mountain Village
Played On 10/03/2022Tough course for average golfer
As an average senior golfer, it is a tough course. I played from the senior tees. I like the layout and the course condition. The greens were exceptionally fast which was a problem for me. I’m not used to playing courses that have well kept green.
In enjoyed playing the course in any case. Nice scenery.
Deer Valley Golf Course - Ridge
Played On 09/26/2022Very hilly
I happened to play the course on a cool, very windy day. Being often on a ridge top, the wind was nasty. I have played this course before and enjoy it very much. It is not a course to walk since it is all hills and often great distance between holes. Great views of the countryside.
As a senior golfer, I play the up tees which still are often a good length for par..
Baraboo Country Club
Played On 09/16/2022Well kept course
I always enjoy playing 18 at Baraboo because it’s always in good shape and it is challenging but not impossible. Except for one hole, number 17 which I find impossible to play well.
That having been said, I always look forward to playing there.
Baraboo Country Club
Played On 09/16/2022Well maintained course
This is a very nice course always in good condition. I find it fun and interesting. There is one hole (17) that I don’t feel is a reasonable hole. Even from the forward tees, it is impossible to play well.
The people are always friendly at the course and I enjoy the quiet electric carts.
Viroqua Hills Golf Course
Played On 05/15/2021Nice course
I have played this course a number of times and would enjoy it very much, except I always seem to pick a rainy or cold day. It is a very nice course and very enjoyable. It was very slow on this Saturday that I played.
It is usually not a problem though ordinarily we play weekdays.
Kings Ridge Golf Club - Ridge Course
Played On 04/10/2021Dry fairways, good greens, no rest rooms
I was one of only a few playing at 1:00 pm. on an April Saturday. It took about 20 minutes to get to the course from the clubhouse by golf card with a bit of help from people in the area. It is through a residential area.
Houses line all fairways. The fairways are fairly wide and houses and yards seldom come into play.
A problem that I had and one of the reasons for the 3 stars was that unless you are a member with a key, there are no restroom facilities at all. It would be a 20 minute trip back to the main clubhouse.
This is a nice course to practice your chipping. I primarily used my edges 7, 8, and 9 irons. Fairways though were hard and dry.
Willowbrook Golf Course
Played On 02/23/2020beautiful course
This was one of the nicest courses that I have played in Florida. Except for the tropical look, it felt like the lush courses that I play back in Wisconsin. It is very well maintained.
The Sunday that we played was very busy and the play was a bit slow. I will play it again in any case.
Schalamar Creek Golf Club
Played On 02/18/2020well kept course
This is a nice moderate priced and moderate difficulty course. It was very busy and the play was slow. A ranger was present and tried to speed up play but it was just slow over the whole course.
According to some others, this was unusual. Nice people and fun course to play.
Reedsburg Country Club
Played On 07/10/2017nice course
This is a course that the average golfer can play, especially if played from the forward tees. I am an older golfer and always play from the gold tees. This is not a good beginner or course for those who lack some drive accuracy since there are trees and quite a bit of water.
I especially enjoyed the course since it it so well maintained, with fast greens and well cut fairways.
Indian Bayou Golf Club
Played On 01/30/2015Indian Bayou
This is course I would not go back to as an average golfer. It is designed in away that hurts the non-long ball hitter.Even the up tees would be a problem. The windy cool weather certainly affected my play.
There are many other courses which are better for the average golfer. The rough, traps and fairways favor the better golfer.
Blackstone Golf Course
Played On 01/29/2015great course
I've played about 8 courses while in the Destin, FL area this January. I like this course the best. It is in great condition, especially for winter. The fairways are green, the greens are in perfect condition and the course is good for both average or better players.
It is a more hilly course than all others I've played except for the Eglin courses.Try this one first for your winter golf and you will be spoiled.
Shalimar Pointe Golf Club
Played On 01/27/2015Winter golf
Shalimar Point is in my top 3 courses that I played while in the Destin, FL area in January. I played from the white tees though because of my age I usually play one of the up tees. I have not played some of the most expensive or private courses.
The course was challenging enough without being impossible. It was in good winter playing condition, better than most of the courses I have played here.
By the way my number one course, in condition of the course, green grass, great greens, was Blackstone. I would play Shalimar without hesitation again.
The Golf Club at Bluewater Bay
Played On 01/24/2015Lots of water
The course was likely in the best condition of any I've played while in northern Florida during January. The greens were very good and green, and the fairways had a bit of green. This is winter golf. The course winds between houses when traveling between green and next tee, some homes almost within touching distance. We played the white tees and found them to be reasonable for older golfers. We played after a heavy rain the day before and had to stay on cart paths. Having never played the course before, it would have been good to have a golf GPS for distances. We did a lot of walking from cart to ball and back again. This is a 27 hole course.
Seascape Golf Beach and Tennis
Played On 01/12/2015Seascape golf course, Destin, FL
The Seascape course was in the kind of shape that one would expect for winter. The greens were in good winter shape and overall the course was much like most of the courses in the area, but slightly better. This is a no denim course.
There are some very challenging holes with water, hidden greens or fairways, and some narrow fairways. Our group is composed of older players and we play the gold tees. It would have been difficult to score well for us on the whites.
Clubs are carried by club employees to and from the car and a quick cleaning done on the club faces. Everyone was friendly and very helpful for our first time playing this course.
Thank you so much for your 5-star review, Tom! We are happy to hear you enjoyed our course. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back again soon.
