This is a short course that attracts beginners and intermediate players. I played after a torrential rain the night before. As expected the traps were flooded like every other course. The drainage was great with a few problem areas, just like high end courses. I love this course. I play in the middle of the week and I usually finish in under 3 hours..
The off course restaurant which is located in the shared parking lot is J & R Steakhouse which has a great lunch menu with fair prices.

The course was in very good condition for December. The main area of improvement would be to cut down the overhanging tree branches that are blocking approach shots and par 3 shots. This course is owned by Brookhaven and is a great place to get out a d play.

Loved the course! 12 holes with water hazards and plenty of bunkers that are well maintained. It Looks like a great place to live too!

This is a “grip it and rip it” style course. Very long and wide course. Difficult to get into trouble. The greens are well protected with bunkers. The grounds keepers were getting an early jump on spring cleaning. After a harsh winter, The course should be in excellent condition in a few weeks.

As usual there was NO RANGER on this course. I watched as players destroyed the course making divots and drove their carts in out of bounds areas. Several players stuck homes with their golf balls. I live on this course and the MANAGER obviously only cares about the quarterly report to the Board of Directors and not about the pace of play and certainly does not care about the residents in this community.

I have been playing at Willow Creek from the first day it was opened. Unfortunately the management does not have a Ranger allocated in their payroll. The last year they has a Ranger was the end of 2015, because of the ownership's poor judgement with allocating money for a Ranger the pace of play has deteriorated every year.

One more complaint: The course is charging $26.50 per player to ride a golf cart! Most golfers are well over 60 years of age but the course has the audacity to ask us older folks to pay a ridiculous additionally price to rent a cart?
This is basic corporate greed. Please be aware that Willow Creek Golf Course is owned by a Large company that only cares about the bottom line $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

This course was fully operational on February 3rd and well maintained. I was surprised to find that the range was open along with a Practice putting green. All the employees are friendly and helpful.
The courses first 9’holes have water on 5 holes that at times come into play. The fairways beer are in great shape and the greens were all divot free. There were maintenance workers maintaining the traps which is rare for this time of year. The only negative was that the 19th hole was closed.

Rolling Oaks is now one of the only executive courses within this area. I play 2-3 times a week throughout Long Island. I am well versed with every public course. This course has fairways that are in great shape with few divots. The greens also are divot free. You will find the staff friendly and accommodating. I always show up early to every golf course. The staff will launch you as soon as your ready to play. . The only negative is poor drainage on two holes that have created ponds . I expect that Brookhaven will rectify this issue. (Hopefully) With the loss of Heatherwood Golf Course I expect to see more rounds of golf played here and possibly even more money used to enhance the course. A few of the approaches are very difficult due to overhanging tree limbs. Overall it’s a great value for your money. As far as off course amenities JRs steakhouse is being renovated and should reopen in 6 weeks.

The reason why Golf is a dying sport is because of the time it takes to play and money..
Today was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had on a golf course. The first nine was 2.5 hours and then the next 3 holes was 1.5 hours. If I stayed the round would take 7 hours. But of course the sun would have set way before that. I quit and drive off the course in total disgust .
No Rangers is the reason for this problem.
I live on a golf course and play 3 days a week. If golf was going to take 7 hours then no one would play the game.
Outside of that the conditions of the first 12 holes was fantastic.
Before I play at Swan Lake I will call and ask if they have a Ranger otherwise I won’t put myself through the agony.

Rolling Oaks has Two Par 5’s both are difficult due to water on one par 5 and a narrow dogleg on the other. There are 9 par 3s . The course is 4337 yards from. the blue tees .

Brookhaven has been improved this course by recently installing new cart paths. The airways are in great condition with very few divots.
Today there were tree surgeons on the course removing dead trees . However the course needs to trim the overhanging branches throughout the course. The branches are obstructing the par 3s . Hopefully this will be corrected soon.
I recommend stopping at JRs Steakhouse after your round! This restaurant has no affiliation with the course but shares the same parking lot.

This is a short course that has a great layout.
The fairways were in fantastic condition!
The greens were in very good condition with limited divot marks.
The cart paths have all been paved .

Improvement needed are the traps. They all need SAND!
The course is owned by Brookhaven. and they have been upgrading all their courses

Where do I start. At one time, 10 years Great Rock was a well maintained course. Fast forward to today: This course without a doubt is in the WORST condition imaginable.
The tee boxes are 100% Crab Grass and it needs to be cut. The fairways are also filled with Crab Grass. The greens are in decent shape due to no one playing at the course. The traps are
Not maintained and has grass growing in all the traps. I suspect that there is no head groundskeeper and no Pro.
This is so sad for me to see. Great Rock could be the best course in Long Island because of the beautiful terrain. It is the hilliest course that reminds me of an upstate course.
Get out and play before it closes for good.

I have played this course dozens of times. The only complaint is the pace of play. This is due to the fact that there are No RANGERS.
Other than the pace of play the course is in excellent condition, in fact they recently corrected the stagnant water by adding chemicals. This made it more pleasant to retrieve my ball and obviously nicer to look at.
Robin the new manager obviously understands golf and she has been doing a GREAT job!

Ok it’s very basic . The course is gray but the course refuses to have a “Real Ranger “ the pace of play is Slow!!!!

Great course but the course requires a RANGER!!!!!!!

This course is always well maintained. The course has plenty of water and the traps keep the greens well guarded.
The only pitfall is the lack of a Ranger! No one is on the course to keep the pace of play on pace and NO RANGER to eject intoxicated unruly golfers!

Over the years this course went from GREAT to a dump and it's now back!

Thank goodness the owners put the staffing that is required to run a golf course.

The fairways were like a Delea Sid Farm! The fairways are pristine and divot free!

The ruff is improving along with the traps.

The greens are divot free and we're freahly aerated.

The restaurant is tops and has a great 19th hole.

I am Thankful that Great Rock is BACK!!!

There are a solid 20 courses in Suffolk County that we can choose to play at. This is one of my favorite.
As soon as you pull onto the property you know you are somewhere special.
There is always someone to greet you at the bag drop off.
The pro shop personnel are always helpful.

The Course is just over 6000 yards from the tips. The course difficulty is due to the small greens which are always running fast. The wind in the fall also makes the course more challenging.
The course is a very pretty track.

I recommend stopping at the 19th hole and relax outside on one of the Adirondack chairs that overlooks the 9th hole.

This is a great course for anyone that wants to brush up on their iron game and for beginners.
This is a tree lined course that has perfectly groomed fairways with NO DIVOTS on the entire course. The greens are divot free and are in great condition. The bunkers are also in. Wet. Ice condition. The only rough area are the tee boxes but that is to expected due to the inability to move the location of the tee box locations.
Overall it's a place I tecywhen you don't have the time for.a 5 hour round and enjoy playing with your irons. There are 5 holes that you can swing away with your driver.

As always the staff is very friendly and accommodating. There is a large practice green and a separate area to practice your chip shots.
The course has a very thick rough so stay out of it or your score will be hurt. There are several holes where the fairways are tight so the 3 wood is highly recommended.
The halfway house is always open!
The 19th hole has fantastic food and beverages.
