McAllen Country Club
Played On 07/06/2019risk reward
This particular course is not one of the longest that I have played, but is truly one of the most challenging,. With its tight narrowing fairways, and undulating greens. A number of holes are set up with a risk/reward scenario, testing even the most experienced golfing. Because of the tight lies, course management is a must. Many of the holes aren't set up for the "grip it and rip it" mentality (unless you enjoy punching out from the trees). I am a 12 handicap, and shaping shots is not my strength. South Texas is known for its "breezy" days, that's why this course requires thought on almost every shot. Although I don't get the opportunity to play this course as often as I would like, I do enjoy it when I, even though I feel mentally fatigued afterwards.
