Gig Harbor Golf & Country Club
Played On 11/30/2019Amazing 9 hole track!
Gig Harbor Golf Club is truly a hidden gem in the Pacific Northwest. It is a private club but is worth checking out if you like fun, challenging golf courses. It is affordable to join and well worth the money. With at least one tournament a month, you can have fun and competition year round. The greens are amazing and the course is kept in top-notch condition. I'm glad I played there and decided to join.
Canterwood Golf Club
Played On 11/26/2019Great Northwest track!
I love playing Canterwood but rarely get the chance. It is usually an expensive proposition unless you have a connection with a member. The course is in great shape and greens rolled true. It can be very challenging especially if you push it out to the tips...about 7200 yards. Numerous other tee options give every golfer a chance to enjoy this track. I highly recommend checking it out if you get the chance.
Discovery Bay Golf Club
Played On 08/27/2016Challenging from blues
I enjoyed the setting of the course.. you are out in the woods with no houses. I'm an 8 handicap and the blue tees were a real challenge. At least 5 of the party 4's played over 400 yards. The greens were nice and held the ball well but were slower than my home course. I walked 18 and the front was easy....the back will give you a little more of a workout with some pretty steep hills. The overall course condition was good and pace of play was awesome. I played in just over 3 hours. I'll come back and try it again and will hopefully do better now that I know where to place some of my drives. I also saw a lot of deer out there which was cool. The Pro there was really nice and let me tee off early.
Port Ludlow Golf Resort
Played On 08/24/2014Challenging and beautiful course
This was my second time to play Pt. Ludlow and it had been about 10 years. The course was in great shape, and I found it very challenging. Placement of tee shots was key on this course (and that didn't always work out for me). I linked up w/ some other golfnow guys and had a lot of fun. We even had a bald eagle fly eye-height down a fairway right between us. It was incredible.
Also, we had breakfast there and it was very good and was a good deal. Thanks.
Peninsula Golf Course
Played On 08/01/2014Bring mosquito repellant
This was a fun, basic course. It is short and straight forward with very few hazards or dangers. The staff was really friendly and let me borrow bug spray after the first 9.....unfortunately it was a little too late. I wish I would have worn pants because my legs are now covered in mosquito bites. If it wasn't for the bugs, I would have really enjoyed the affordable round. We also had dinner there the night before and it was very good.
