The Rawls Course at Texas Tech
Played On 06/12/2017Trap Central.. hot, windy, awesome.
Played on a day that was 100 degrees and windy. Course is hard, 99 traps in total. Great elevation changes. Due to natural landscape if you're alone and your ball is out of fairway, forget it you're NOT finding it. Definitely going back in the future.
The Canyons At Blackjack Ridge
Played On 06/07/2017Great.. but hard
If you're not use to dealing with major elevation changes, this course will surely test that for you. Everything is going up hill, or down hill. Great views of downtown Tulsa and the city. It's a short course as well, tips are just around 6000. Quite a bit of blind shots which for a first time playing alone made it that much harder, NO idea where to hit at times or how far..Great value for quality!
Pecan Lakes Golf Course
Played On 05/24/2017Good, but bumpy
The strange thing was the grass they use is thick, so ball didn't roll much. Greens were bumpy. Everything was well manicured. Middle of week play, so no wait time. Played alone 18 holes in just under 3 hours.
SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas
Played On 04/07/2017Great course, too bad for pace.
There were no marshals, or anyone keeping track of time. It seemed understaffed. We waited at almost every hole to tee-off. 5hr round in the middle of the day wasn't ideal. Knowing there was nice weather, they couldn't done a better job with tee-times and pace. Layout is challenging, no GPS on carts. Lots of wildlife, and some elevation changes.
Old at Firewheel Golf Park
Played On 03/20/2016Winter temps first day of spring
The temp was 43* on 1st tee at 8:30am. Wind slowed down up until 8th hole, from there gusty until the end. 12-15mph. Tee-boxes were hard, so were the greens. However there were random puddles in some fairways. I enjoy all of the Firewheel courses, and it's always solid. Traps were hard and a little rocky. Practice sand trap had nicer sand than course. I'm sure once it warms up it'll improve.
Tour 18 Dallas
Played On 08/16/2015Disappointed for what it's suppose to be
I've heard Tour 18 is 'cool', great signature holes. Lot's of high expectations. I didn't know it was a community, huge houses, so far so good. Driving in you can see all the browning and dead grass which I didn't think much off, but there was due/mist on the grass. Clubhouse, nice and big, friendly staff. Green had been punched about 10 days before, so I was expecting them to be a bit bumpy, which they were. Not a huge deal. However fairways were poor, very poor condition. It took so much out of it for me. No wonder it was $60(from the usual $80-100). Sad to say I wouldn't go back until I know it's green, plus it was a 45 minute drive. Yes I know it's the middle of summer, and a hot one, but I've played many other courses and are in better condition for less money and are closer to me.
One at Sherrill Park Municipal Golf Course
Played On 06/05/2014Bad greens
Played Course 1 - The course layout is great, Tbox, fairwys, rough, all good, except the greens were awful. Maybe lost due to a freeze. maybe planning on redoing. Not sure, but they were like a beach, lots of sand, and bumps.
