Palatine Hills Golf Course
Played On 11/12/2020Great Round of Golf on a Beautiful November Day
This was my second time playing at Palatine Hills, I brought two of my friends with me, and we had a wonderful time. We are all beginner golfers who really started playing serious this year. Being beginners the course presented some tough challenges for us to overcome but we still had a fantastic time. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day in terms of the weather, especially since it was mid-November. The greens were in pretty good shape, some needing more care, but this was understandable since it is the end of the season. Some of the grounds crew were out working on on the fairways and cutting tree branches down but were mostly respectful to us as we played through. Unfortunately, the clubhouse must have recently closed, since it was open about a month earlier. It must have been closed either due to covid or it being the end of the season. We were unaware of this and were unable to get any water or food at the turn, which was disappointing. Otherwise, the course is beautiful, maintained well, and was a lot of fun. I highly recommend it and will be back to play here next season.
White Mountain Executive Golf Course
Played On 11/08/2020Average Course for Beginners
If you are looking for an average nine hole course to work on your short game this is place. I recently went with a friend of mine, both of us are beginners, and while we enjoyed the beautiful day the course left something to be desired. The tee boxes, greens, and some of the fair ways need a lot of work. There was no starter/ranger which left everything as a free for all. Pace of play was slow. Some groups in front of us took up way too much time, many of them playing multiple balls on each hole, and wasting time taking pictures. I understand that this is a course designed to help beginners improve their game, but there is no excuse to have the course in poor condition. I don't think I'd come back here unless they improve the condition of the course.
Hi, we’re sorry to hear you did not have an enjoyable experience at White Mountain. We are currently making improvements to the course and expect conditions to be closer to what you would usually experience soon. We are continually working to ensure pace of play is improved. We appreciate your feedback, please reach out directly if you’d like to chat further!
Willow Run Golf Course
Played On 11/06/2020Too Many Leafs!
Willow Run has the potential to be a great nine hole course, unfortunately it leaves something to be desired. When I arrived they were running 15-20 minutes behind and there were no golf carts available. I had to wait until a group finished their round of golf before I got their cart. There was no starter/ranger thus the pace of play was slow. The tee boxes, greens, and fairways need a lot of work, especially the greens. The weather was beautiful but since it was November all the leafs were on ground. It was difficult finding our ball even on fairways. I have seen many golf courses use riding leaf blowers which greatly helps clear the course and allows for golfers to find their ball and keep up the pace of play. I was told by the others I was playing with that the course is usually much nicer at the beginning of the year. That being so, the course needs a lot of care, especially the greens.
George W Dunne National Golf Course
Played On 11/05/2020The Best of the Forest Preserve Courses
This is one of my favorite courses! I recently started golfing this year and this is the course that I will consistently return to. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The course is usually kept in good condition. Occasionally after a large rain fall the fairways can be in rough shape, but the grounds crew really works hard to keep this course in good shape. Some of the greens could use a little work. This can be a challenging course for a beginner but has really helped me improve my game and how I approach my shots. I cannot recommend this course enough. I try to golf here at least once a week and have brought many of my friends and family to play here as well.
We are so happy to hear you enjoy our course! Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback and hope to see you back again soon.
Mt Prospect Golf Club
Played On 10/25/2020This is a Fantastic Course!
I really enjoyed my entire experience here. The fairways, greens, and tee boxes were all in good shape. You can tell they work hard to keep this place in great shape. I really enjoyed the detail that has gone into each of their holes and how many of them are designed in the likeness of St. Andrew's course in Scotland. The golf carts are all equipped with a gps system which was helpful for us to choose our clubs and plan our shots. Occasionally, the gps system would have notifications that would pop up which got annoying after a while. All in all, we had a great time, I would highly recommend this golf course, and will be back to play soon.
Thanks so much for such a lovely review. We work hard to ensure our course is exceptionally kept for all of our golfers. We cannot wait to welcome you back again very soon for another round!
Indian Boundary Golf Course
Played On 10/18/2020Indian Boundary is a really good course. Of the forest preserve courses it is one of the better ones in the city of Chicago. I have golfed here several times now and it presents various challenges while not being too difficult for me as a beginner. Some of the greens could use more work and occasionally the course can get backed up, especially on the last few holes. Otherwise this is a great course and will come back again.

Edgebrook Golf Course
Played On 10/05/2020This course needs a lot of work. There are no grass tee boxes, instead they have astroturf mats, which are nearly impossible to hit off of. The greens and fairways need a lot of work. For the state that the course is in charging $45 is way to steep. I have played most of the forest preserve courses and this one by far is my least favorite.
Hello and thank you for your 5-star rating! We're delighted you enjoyed your round. Please book another round with us soon, and thanks for choosing Palatine Hills Golf Course!
