First time playing at Chateau Elan and I was very impressed. Played the Chateau course. Course was in good shape despite typical winter conditions. The layout was good and very playable. With the hills in this part of Georgia there were a couple of holes that were weird just to fit the terrain, but not nearly to the degree most courses around here seem to be. The club was very nice … very similar to a private club. It is not cheap to play but compared to other public courses I thought it was well worth the money. I will be back.

Lake Arrowhead is a mountain type course. You will find very few flat lies, which makes it difficult. It is a beautiful layout and pretty well maintained. A number of the holes are forced to fit the terrain, particularly number 5 … it is a par 5 but requires a perfect downhill tee shot to get there in regulation. Have played there several times and like it but it is very hard to score well on.

Played at Westin Rancho Mirage Pete Dye course for the first time in a few years. What has happened? Fairways and greens were fine but rough was mainly dirt and weeds. Seems like they stopped maintaining the rough. Played Indian Canyons yesterday and it was beautiful. Interesting, the holes you can see from the resort, numbers 15 and 18, were well maintained … fairways and roughs were green and lush. Guess they don’t want to spend money on it anymore. I won’t be back.

Friend and I played a round in about 3.5 hours today at Houston National. Course was nice and dry. Greens were in good shape ... fairway grass was coming out but short right now. Not much grass off the greens yet so chipping was a challenge. Courses in Houston have been very wet this year; this one seems to handle water better than most others. Good value for the money.

Have played here before but not recently. Course was in very good shape other than water in bunkers from recent heavy rain. Fairways were good, greens were slow but fair, driving range was in great shape. We played in about 4 hours. Good round of golf ... will be back.

Played Longwood with a friend on a cold Houston day. Course was very wet due to recent rains. Still showing a lot of damage from Hurricane Harvey floods, including many washed out areas and spots with little to no grass. Not sure why but greens were in awful shape, bumpy and many bare patches. Course layout is good with some challenging holes and staff was friendly but course really needs work.

Played Star Ranch today. Course was in excellent shape ... greens were perfect. Plenty of challenging holes and overall layout was good. Driving range was very well maintained. We would definitely play there again.

Played yesterday from blue tees. Course was in good shape ... greens were fast but fair. Groups in front of us were slow and no marshal patrolling course made round a little longer than it should have been. Driving range was in good shape as well. Course layout is good. I am a high handicap player and there are only a handful of holes where out of bounds means you lost your ball. Overall a good day of golf.

Course was in good shape. Greens were fast but fair. Lakes don't come into play that often. Played with a group of golfers with handicaps ranging from 22 to 6 ... everyone thought course was in great shape and was very playable. Will play here again.

Course was interesting. Layout was good and the course was in good shape. Tough course if tee shots are not fairly accurate ... out of bounds balls are gone. Elevation changes made it fun and course was fairly scenic. Overall it was a good day of golf.

Our group thoroughly enjoyed the course. It was in great shape and very well maintained. Playing holes that resemble famous holes around the country made it more interesting. We would definitely play there again . Challenging for all levels of player.

I have played here several times over the years but it just keeps getting worse. It was only $21 for a round but I am not sure it is even worth that. Fairways were ok but greens were just dirt with patches of grass. Bunkers were packed sand that you could not rake. Course layout is pretty good with lots of water but it needs a lot of attention.
