I Love this Place

I play here all the time, it’s a very fun course. There are so many great holes to use the driver (1,6,9,10,11,14,17,18) you just tee it up and let it rip. I play here so much I know it like the back of my hand lol. Lots of elevation changes and blind shots, thick rough and feskew. It plays longer than the card says but if you bomb the driver straight you can shorten the course quite a bit. There’s a good mix of short and long par 3s & 4s & 5s. The fairways are tight and the rough is unforgiving. The greens are pretty slow this year.

One of the Most Challenging Courses

I play from the blue tees and this course is very tough, in particular the back 9, I think the total yards is like 6700-6800. The starter did a terrible job that day so it was a very slow long round. The course is unforgiving and punishes any poor shots. It’s also windy which just adds to the challenge. The bunkers are positioned in a way that sucks your ball in like a vacuum. The approach shots are very challenging. If you are looking to have some fun and shoot low scores this is not the course to do it. This is the course you play when you want to test your game. But overall it’s a great test of golf and well maintained.

Fun Little Track

This is a par 60 or 61, less than 4000 yards, but very fun and fairly challenging at times. So there is one very short par 5 and about 4-5 par 4’s, every par 4 is basically a short to medium length dog leg. But most of the par 3’s are long and tight, around 175-190 (from the blue tees). Many of the holes offer a bit of elevation and the greens are pretty well bunkered. The community is friendly and laid back and the course is in good shape, it’s a great place to work on your short game and better than most executive courses because it’s not all or 3’s. There is no driving range or practice area so you pretty much pull up and go right out, I haven’t even had to
go inside the clubhouse.

Very Nice, Challenging 27 Holes

Three 9 hole courses named after golf legends (Jones, Ouimet, Zaharius) which provides great variety and replay ability. The Ouimet course is the most challenging and least forgiving. The Jones course is a lot of fun especially if you play a cut/fade with the driver. Par 3s are spectacular, elevated tees, some water holes. Par 4s are very challenging, especially on the Ouimet course. Very well maintained course and very good looking views. One of the best aspects of the course is the tee boxes, absolutely tremendous! Very wide which allows you to play draws and fades on any hole, whichever you prefer, without penalty. In fact I would say the tee boxes are the best in Southeast Massachusetts. Staff is kind of meh and the amenities are lacking but the golf is fantastic.

Very Nice Little Course, 11 ish holes

Some beautiful views of the bay and an interesting history with the land being an old Wampanoag camping ground. I got lucky and wound up playing with a nice guy who was very familiar with the course, if I was by myself I would have been very confused by the layout. That being said I am very happy I played the course, very well maintained, beautiful greens that roll so sweet and true. It’s pretty much wide open with barely any trees so you don’t have to worry about losing any balls in the woods. You may only use your driver on a couple of holes anyway. I like the little touches of the Indian on the flag as well as the carts. Just make sure you get a good idea of the layout of the course first, otherwise you may not fully enjoy yourself.

One of the Top Courses in the Area

I love this golf course, I guess it just “suits my eye” but I find it to be a perfect blend of golf. Each hole is unique and has its own name which is pretty cool. Plenty of tee boxes and challenging shots but at the same time very fair golf that doesn’t punish good shots. Short and long par 5s, a drive-able par 4 12th, dangerous par 3s, lots of risk/rewards. Well maintained course, some of the greens are a little bumpy. The staff is very friendly and does a good job. Complimentary range balls, grass range, nice snack shack in the middle of the course that intersects 4 holes. The golf carts are so amazing, very comfortable leather sofa like seating, gps with scorekeeping and food/beverage ordering. I am so glad I finally got to play here and now I will be a regular because this is a great course where I play my best golf.

Complete Joke of a Golf Course

No starter, pace of play is the worst around, worst I’ve ever experienced. The course is lined with condos and many of the people who live there are pathetic. This moron let his dog run lose and he couldn’t get control of the dog so it ran around like a maniac for 10 minutes, interrupting our round as well as the groups behind us. Then this other idiot woman with a dog yelled at us that “this is our land.” I was honestly flabbergasted and I will never waste my money here ever again and I tell everyone that this is the worst course around. Not to mention that the course is poorly designed, very short with many many blind shots and wonky little holes. I see prices on golf now and they are outrageous for this trash course.

I’ve played here at least 50 rounds

The course is in good shape, they finished the construction last year and this is the best the course has ever played. They fixed the 7th & 9th tee boxes which were so bad before and for the most part all of the tee boxes are in good shape. They removed some bad bunkers and improved soothe conditions of others. They have also opened up some nice views of the canal over the years and added a few nice touches to the course. The front 9 is very good golf, the back 9 features some poorly designed holes, most notably the 17th. They have a grass driving range which is fantastic. It is a short but challenging course that will punish bad shots, lots of undulation and blind shots. Greens get fast in the summer along with deep thick rough and long feskew. Lack of starter remains one one of the biggest issues especially as it gets busier. Overall it’s a good value and fun laid back experience.

Wow, I really like this course even more now

I guess I got lucky because the pace of play was excellent, no one in front or behind us. The course is in phenomenal condition, the new construction and new green on 5 and new tee boxes on 6 are brilliant. The greens are in excellent condition, a little slow but that is the norm for most every course around here. People who say this course is short are silly, they are looking at it completely wrong. It’s a par 70 with 6 par 3s, one of which is 85 yards (true Island green) and there is also a short drive-able par 4 and a short par 5. So when you factor all of that in, this course plays more like 6500 from the blues and 6200 from the whites (on a scale against other courses in the area). Not to mention that almost every par 3 is relatively long (185-220). #2 is as challenging a par 4 as you can find around these parts. This is a fun course, especially if you draw the ball, with many challenging shots and it’s nearly impossible to lose a golf ball. If there was one thing they could do to improve the course it would be to create a new Teebox on number seven across the street which could make it a 115-120 yard hole from the back tees. Other than that I say bravo, it’s been a few years since I had played here but I am very happy to be back.

Interesting course

It's a pretty fun little track. The first time I played here I didn't really like it, but mostly because its a tough course and I had no advanced knowledge. I learn courses quick, so now that I've played it 3 times I am starting to really enjoy it. I love the fact that there are so many unique holes and a variety of different holes. You have a 85 yard par 3 shot to an island green, the rest of the par 3's are long. From the blue tees you've got five 185-230 yard par 3's. From the whites they are like 165-220. I like that. It separates the good players from the bad. The course also features a nice variety of par 4 holes. There are 2 or 3 shorter, drive able par 4's. But then you have a few long beastly par 4's that actually turn into par 5' s for the ladies. I believe numbers 2, 5 and 18 are the toughest par 4 holes. The par 5's are pretty challenging with some nice risk/reward decisions. I love number 17, it's a razor sharp dog leg left.. You have to choose between playing safe and hitting a long iron or hybrid/wood which makes it a 3 shot par 5, or whipping out the driver and trying to clear the trees and cut the corner and leave yourself a short iron approach shot and subsequent eagle opportunity. Thats what i did but i hit a bomb that ran right through the fairway and left me a pretty impossible shot in a little hole from about 145 out. I had to avoid a bunker and some branches in front of me with a really low shot so I tried to punch it with a 4 iron and run it up to the green but I hooked it a bit and wound up short of the green in the rough. I ended up making par. I found that I rarely used my 7 and 8 iron here. You end up with a lot of longer or shorter irons. Not a ton of 140 - 160 type shots. There are some elevated tees and some nice chances to really bomb the driver. The worst thing about the course is the rough is brutal! Seriously some of the toughest roughIi have played. Much harder than Sandwich Hollows. Also there is a ton of undulation, which can often leave you with a tough stance and lie, even after a gorgeous drive. In particular the first couple of holes. I definitely recommend Bay Pointe. Bring your A-game and your bug spray, and have fun!.
