Thoroughly enjoyed a very educational round. Pace of play in the rain beats the heck out of those sunny afternoon strolls. Forget about rolling worm burners and favorable bounces, and remember extra umph across wet greens, even those as nice as these are. Very nice greens, wide fairways, and even in the occasional rain and intermittent sprinkles, I found no mudpuddles that plague some of the other courses in my area!

The fairways need grass and the place needs a liquor license ... check back later.

Not as picturesque as Coure d’Alene or Pebble Beach, but in just as good of shape! Playing in Southern California, I’ve gotten used to some really bare fairways and rough so tall I have trouble finding my ball. But today was a delight.
And though I’m not a member, I really liked the way I was treated by everyone I came in contact with, especially Brandon (please Lord, let me have remembered that right!) in the pro shop, even if he did have trouble finding my GNow res.

So maybe I lost a few golfballs, but the putts I made on those beautiful greens more than made up for it. Our foursome let a two pass us at about the 13th and we still came in under 4 hours. The carts have GPS and the beverage cart came by often enough that I could learn to love this game!

I had a great time. The informality of the place caught me off guard but in some ways was actually relaxing. I’m okay hitting off of mats when it’s practically free! Had I played here before I would have not rented a cart, would have taken a Sunday bag with maybe my wedges, an 8 and a 3 iron. The fairways are not exactly lush but the greens were in better condition than on some of the fancier courses I’ve played. Can’t address the extras, except to express my awe at the amount of stuff in the golf shop. It looked like one of the superstores packed into a walkin closet.

What a little treasure. 5 Bucks? (5 more to turn it into 18) Greens nicer than the $40 round a week ago!
