Boone Creek Golf Club - Creekside Course
Played On 07/19/2018Outstanding Facility! Worth the trip northwest!
If you’re looking for an outstanding golf experience in the NW Chicago burbs, check out Boone Creek.
They have three great nine-hole courses, earmarked & rotated for nine and 18 hole play, nice driving range, putting green, pro shop and bar/grill for before and after round activities.
The Creekside course was fun to play and beautiful to look at while walking.
Walnut Greens Golf Course

Walnut Greens Golf Course

This course is a go to when I have time for a quick nine. Check it out if you’re in the area.
Wing Park Golf Course
Played On 06/25/2018The oldest IL 9-hole muni course - great layout and challenge
This is my second round at Wing Park. I paired up with a father and son for a nice round. The course was quite playable, even after a a lot of rain in this area.
I like the course because it offers a great variety of hole lengths (116 yds to 517 yds), playing 2,778 from the whites and 3,131 from the blues. It’s a nice change of pace from the Executive 9-hole courses that are great for iron tuneup.
Looking to go “old school” for a quick round? Check out Wing Park.
Boone Creek Golf Club - Creekside Course
Played On 06/21/2018Didn’t play. Rained out.
We’ve had several days of rain in Northern Illinois, including all day June 21st. Weren’t able to play. Hopefully another time. I’ve heard good things about the venue, can’t wait to see for myself.
Nickol Knoll Golf Club
Played On 06/17/2018Great hidden suburban gem!
This is one of my favorite nine hole courses in this area. The layout is fun and challenging, with holes that go uphill and downhill with the terrain. It looks and feels like a longer course and is well maintained.
The staff is always professional, friendly and helpful! As a park district course, it is well run, maintained and popular.
Last, but not least, is that this course has “ Peyton’s Hill,” where Walter Payton had a well-publicized, strenuous workout. The location is properly and respectfully marked for the great athlete and human being.
If you’re in this area, put Nickol Knoll on your must play list!
Walnut Greens Golf Course
Played On 06/14/2018Great Nine Hole Course in the Chicago NW Burbs!
Want to play golf in the NW Chicagoland area, but have little time? Check out Walnut Greens. It’s a nice “chip & put course” that lets you work on your short to mid irons and putting. It’s well maintained, with a friendly staff.
