Very Happily Surprised!

Great course that we booked last minute on GolfNow. We got a good deal for $45 and decided to take advantage and make the 25 min drive from Orlando. We were really surprised how good of shape the course was in and the greens rolled very smooth. The course plays as a links style with a few water hazards. Can spray the ball a little after the tee. Was very windy the day we played which made club selection tough. After the round we also had a few cocktails in the tavern where the bartender, didnt catch her name, was great! Will definitely look to come back here when traveling to Orlando.

True Test of Golf

Got a good summertime rate since most of the round was played in the 100's temperature wise.

Played the tips to see where the Pros play and it was long and tough from back there. Makes you appreciate how good the pros really are. If you can stay in the fairways its obviously easier but there is always water or fairway bunkers lurking.
Course seemed burnt out for the most part on most holes during this time. Dont know if they kind of let it go after the tour stop comes through or what but other courses in the area were in a lot better shape. Greens were crusty as well but tee boxes were all in great shape.
Clubhouse has a bunch of apparel and the bar is awesome inside.
Will definitely take a shot again at this course when i make it back to the area.

One of the Best..

One of the best courses I have played as far as course conditions. Fairways and tee boxes were absolutely pristine and the greens rolled true.
Didnt have much options at the turn for food wise but the bar inside is very nice with great views out to the course.
Playing the tips makes this course difficult as some of the tees are way back on some holes and make the Par 3's a real challenge.
The scented ice cold towels on the course are also a great touch.
Ben (from Mississippi) in the pro shop was also a great help and very friendly.
Firecliff gets my vote for best course in Palm Desert area! Definitely will be back!

Great Celebrity Course

Course is in great condition for summer season. Greens are a little "crusty" but still roll very true. Some of the tee boxes from the Cabernet tees need a little trim but nothing terrible.
The course has a great layout and appealing to the eye with water features and mountain backdrop.
Little confusion with the starter and played behind 2 twosomes but he was very friendly and laid out some of the features of the course which is nice.
Guys in pro shop were also very friendly and helpful.
Great day! Would love to play again next time in Palm Desert

Nice Layout

Booked this course as we saw this was a 5 star rated course in Rankings.
The course conditions I thought were good but not great. Some burnt out spots and greens were just ok.
One of the big things is there are not a lot of signs on where to go to next hole. There are some but we had to turn around at least 3 times because we were going wrong way.
The layout of the course is nice but once again just don't think its a 5 star course.
Also, don't know if this is usual here but there were SO MANY caterpillars all over the course (Greens, Fairways, Tee Boxes, markers, on our clothes and bags)
Would play here again but I don't think its worth $80 and the hour ride there.

Can't Wait to Return

Played on Friday morning at 9:48. Got set up in pro shop quickly and paid $8 for medium bucket of range balls. Range is nice but unfortunately you hit off matt's.
Clubhouse is amazing. Looks huge and even nicer inside. Have a nice area to sit out and look over Range.

Course is in great shape and it looks like they are letting some areas/tee boxes grow but once cut will be perfect. You can tell this Is a troon course because conditions are great.

Layout is great but make sure you are somewhat accurate with drives/tee shots. From the tips fairways look very narrow and you will be chipping out to play your third shot if you miss fairways.

Can't wait to get back and play this course again. Also, it was a pain that course is cart path only at this time, but completely understandable since everything is so new. Play this course if you can, you wont regret it.

P.S. carts are some of the best I have ever rode in. Very nice

Good Layout. Iffy conditions

Played this course through golfnow on a Sunday morning. Got paired up with a nice group of 3 from Texas. Guy in pro shop was very friendly and starter was very friendly as well.
Course conditions were just OK. Tee boxes were probably the worst part of the course. Bunkers were in really good shape though and The layout of the course was pretty cool and pace of play wasn't awful. Finished in just about a little over 4 hours.
The other resort courses around Disney are in a lot better shape (Waldorf, Ritz, Grand Cypress, Tranquilo) but it is kind of cool that you are playing where the Tour was at one point. Just don't think it's close to tour conditions anymore. They are closing for a week this upcoming week so hopefully it's to work on some things.
Overall just average course but would definitely play again for right price.

Awesome Course/Facility

Booked through GolfNow on a great rate at 12:30 in the afternoon. Conditions were the best I have ever played on and I've played my share of nice/expensive courses.
Played the black tees and for about a 9 handicap, it was a real challenge. Tee shots need to be accurate or you will find water/trouble. Not to mention a long 260 yard par 3 mixed in.
Greens were fast and smooth as glass. And tee boxes and fairways were prefect. Honestly can't say enough good things about the conditions.
Staff was friendly and very helpful if any questions needed to be answered. Free range balls and nice practice facilities were great too.
Doesn't stop me from playing here again but I will say just be ready for the valet parking fee. Paid $20 to valet and that was after a reduced rate for dining in the champions club.
Can't wait to get back to this course and eventually try to tackle the Blue Monster. Great day!

Great Day at Shingle Creek

Booked a very reasonable tee time for Saturday the 31st at 8am. From when you pull up the service is great, someone is there to grab your car for complementary valet and they kindly direct you inside to pro shop.
Pro shop/facility is very nice both inside and out and also has a large assortment of clothing/equipment to choose from.
Practice range is nice and comes with free range balls.
Starter got me out a group early with two very nice guys from Tennessee and had a great time playing with them.
The course plays a little longer from what the yardage says from the tips (about 7100) but the course gives you room to hit driver and still be in play on most holes(which I wasn't hitting driver good all day)
The course is in great shape and the greens were probably the best I have played anywhere (I have played Waldorf, two on Disney, Hawks landing, tranquilo, grand cypress) it seems like here most people fix their ball marks more than the other courses. They were real smooth and fast which was tough to get used to but awesome to play on.
I didn't play to well this day but it was still a great day and a pleasure to play this course. Probably will play it again when I get back to fl end of November.
Rented clubs and they are nice Taylor made irons and driver.

The only thing I would say is on one of the par 3's they have a cool idea of doing a hit or miss the green contest for double your bet to spend at the pro shop and have someone there waiting to ask but as I was playing from the tips the person never asked me if I wanted to participate in the contest so I had no idea it was an option to do. She said something to the guys that were playing the forward tees but didn't bother to come back and ask me. I would have definitely did it and I also hit the green so that would have been a nice reward.
Other than that the course is awesome!!!

Cant wait to get back!

Booked a tee time over the phone for a Saturday afternoon at 1:00. Rate was not bad at all for the conditions of the course which were beautiful. I was paired up with a group of two as a solo and people I played with were very nice.
Starter was very informative and friendly at the start of the round as he went over the carts/green speeds/etc. to begin. I played from the tips and though somewhat long, the fairways for the most part are very wide so you can spray the ball a little without being penalized to much. Greens/Fairways/tee boxes were all in great shape and the greens rolled fast but true.
A few of the holes are pretty tough where you cant miss the fairways or your OB in the reservoir but just an overall great layout.
Seemed like we had a 4 man scramble finishing up before us which made the pace of play a little slow but nothing extremely terrible.]
I cant wait to get back to this course again sometime soon. Had a great time!

Good Course in Amherst

Teed off about 4:00pm. Didn't even make it through the first hole as it started raining for about 15-20 minutes before it cleared up again and the sun came back out. The course is in pretty good shape overall as the fairways are plush and the greens are pretty smooth. The only thing about the greens is that there are a lot of ball marks, but you cant blame the course for that (FIX YOUR BALL MARKS!)
The only thing I would say about the course to improve it is to add some type of picture of each hole. There are a lot of shots where you don't know what the yardage is to cross a creek or where the hole goes after you do.
One more thing that kind of got on my nerves is that we finished our round of 18 around 8:15 but had a match going in our foursome that ended in a tie. We wanted to try and break it by playing the 18th hole again quick seeing as there was no one behind us. As we were about to tee off, guy from pro shop came up in cart and told us that carts had to be in by 8pm. Seeing as we tee'd off at 4:00 and we ended around 8:15 for a pretty decent normal time for a round, don't you think that is something you should tell a group before they go out? Now was it really that the cart had to be in, or was is it the fact we tried to play an extra hole? Idk but when we were driving in to the clubhouse we could still see some carts out on the back 9. Just didn't sit well with me. If your concerned about the extra hole, please say that but don't make up excuses.

Overall though, course is nice and worth a play, but just be careful with some tee shots as you don't really know where the hole goes or yardage where a creek crosses.

Cant Wait to get back to Pinehills

Played the Jones course at Pinehills on Sunday Morning around 11. Just an overall great course from the clubhouse to the golf course and staff.
Course has a very scenic layout with some pretty long Par 4's and 5's depending on the tees you play.
Greens had been aerated a couple weeks prior so there were still some puncture holes but definitely did not affect putts to much and you could tell they were getting back to smoothing out.
Driving up to the clubhouse is very nice as well as the locker rooms inside are and bar/restaurant area.
Before you start you get to use all of the practice facilities(Range,Putting green, chipping area, and practice bunker) The only thing I don't like is that you have to hit off the green mats on the range, but that's not a big deal.
Starters are very friendly and organized and offer free bottles of water before your round begins. Also have a cart girl out on the course that was very friendly as well.
For being the beginning of golf season, the course was in immaculate conditions, started out on the back first and could have not been more impressed with the layout. Course has some great views.
Cant wait to come back and play in the summer when the course really greens up and the temps are a little warmer. Will definitely be playing the Jones again and want to get on the Nicklaus course as well!

Nice Course

Played for the first time at the Diplomat on a Saturday morning at 7:40. Got paired up with a husband and wife that were really friendly. The range is in good shape and has a putting green and chipping area as well.
The clubhouse is very big and looks really nice. Had a couple beers at the bar after the round and had a nice view of the course from the outside patio.
The pace of play was very good, had to wait on the first hole and that was it for the whole round. Finished 18 holes in about 3.5 hours.
The course is in good shape as fairways are lush and greens are smooth and fast. The only thing I might say was a little shaky was the condition of some of the tee boxes, they were a little beaten up but weren't awful.
The course has some nice views and a lot of water in play which makes some shots and tee shots tough off the tee. Played from the farthest yardage and course was tough but not unfair by any means. Most could probably score pretty well as course allows you to spray the ball off the tee a little on some holes.
Carts have GPS which makes it nice. Will definitely look to play this course again when traveling I south Florida.

Great Course!

Played this course in late October when it was freezing and rainy. Got through 9 Holes but played through some pretty bad rain. Even though it was raining and wet the course was in great shape. Most leaves were cleared from all fairways and course was still green.
Holes have some pretty long carries from the back two tee boxes. Par 5's are long but straight. At this course it is important to drive the ball well off the Tee, not much room for misses. The layout of the course is really nice with different types of holes. If your playing from the back tees, the par 3's are no joke.
The good thing about this course is that you have to think about the hole your playing, cant just get up there with driver and grip and rip. Pace of play was pretty good after the first few holes, had a couple foursomes behind us that were pretty slow, but could have been due to the conditions of the weather.Carts have GPS which makes things easy to pick up distances
Club house is really nice and a nice place to grab a drink and some food after your round. Doesn't hurt that its right across the street from Foxwoods.
Staff was really friendly and was more than happy to give us a 9 hole rain check since we only could get through nine due to the weather.
Cant wait to go back in the Spring and play the 9 already played and the 9 we didn't get to!

Makes you feel like a Pro

Llayed The Waldorf Astoria course in March 2014. Overall best course I have played so far in Orlando and have played a Disney course and 3 courses around Disney.
From the beginning, staff was very professional and had complimentary valet as well as took bag to cart (that has a gps) and got it set up on the range. The range is very well kept up as well with balls ready for you with grass range.
Course was tough but definitely fair. Had a tough day score wise, but definitely could have taken advantage if you hit fairways. There are some really nice views with a ton of strategically placed bunkers and water all around the course. Bring extra balls if your not a great golfer.
Course was in great shape from tee boxes to greens and greens rolled very true but are fast. The course is really scenic too with all of the water around the fairways and greens.
You even get a personalized bag tag at the end of your round.
I would love to play the course again when visiting orlando and definitely worth the steep price.
