I have played this course about 6 times, it is a bit of drive (approx 1 hour from Hamilton/Burlington). I have taken several friends and always found the reaction was great and worth it. The course is in great shape with exception of the bunkers (weeds sprawl and tall growth), but that's ok as you just find a spot and move the ball to a clear area of the bunker - not a big deal or it depends how picky you are or if you're a scratch golfer. Have fun, love it. Just a beautiful course and clubhouse for drinks afterwards.

I have played SW for many years, the course layout is great and you can see the golf course does keep the greens at their best. The course fairways are dry however as I see, it does not detract from many to go out and enjoy. The staff is excellent, from check-in to service in Clubhouse, including the GM that I find engaging and friendly. The land is set on clay base and the reserve for water is minimal, hence they can only do so much. Have fun.

Enjoyed the day with my wife, great pace and nice course. Check in and Starter very welcoming. Picked a few apples from tree near #1 green. The clubhouse has been rearranged/upgraded as well as paving in front. Definitely will return.

This is really a nice course. I play all over within my area and among several fine courses, I include Southbrook as one that I enjoy. The course has it's challenges playing 6200 yds from the White tips, for the average golfer this is a fair test of skill. The layout keeps you interested, and both the Proshop and Clubhouse staff are very pleasant. The course is well kept, some tee blocks and bunkers need attention, but this shouldn't detract from a great day. Highly recommend to play Southbrook, you will Not be disappointed.

This is a fine course to enjoy. You will use all the clubs throughout the course. Excellent staff inside the proshop, clubhouse and starters. Just a great day.

Recommend for players that are straight hitters, otherwise you'll be in residences backyards. I used driver on three holes where there was some forgiveness, therefore the 3 wood kept me in play all day - admittedly it did unnerve me. Staff is excellent including starter and marshal. My wife and I (southern Ontario) paired with another couple (BC) - we had a lot of fun. And that's what its all about. One particular hole, a resident had a small fridge in backyard that welcomed Canadians and visitors, offering complimentary drinks - I helped myself to two beers, and placed 5 USD on their table. Much appreciated and thanks. The course is in excellent condition, greens are well maintained and bunkers were consistent. Good place to play.

There's a reason the feedback rating on golf now is 100%. The course is in spectacular condition, nice layout nestled amongst the mountains. Service in pro shop is professional, and the service at the bar is pleasant and great as we enjoyed the fish sandwich along with beer. Be prepared for the drive, but as mentioned in previous reviews - it's really worth it.

Worth the drive, a course in great condition. Best tee blocks anywhere (and I play a lot). Fairways are undulating/curves/slopes. This really is a fine course. The staff are great, Cody in particular that I dealt with me, and I should mention the Starter is excellent..

This is a very enjoyable course to play. Although wet from morning rain, I can accept what is given. I recommend this course and wouldn't hesitate to play again and again. The layout is perfect and challenging. You will not be disappointed.

I read the less desirable reviews on this course, and decided to take the chance. It's really what you make of it. The course layout is great, challenging with dog legs, narrow fairways - especially the par 5 15th followed by an equally tough 16th that requires a 180 yd straight drive to stay clear of the water on the left and get past the dog leg right corner. The greens are tricky, pay close attention to the subtle slopes. Ok, the fairways are bad, just move the ball to some grass, the tee blocks also not good so find a decent spot to tee up. We had a great day of fun playing this course. If you don't like it, then go pay $75 USD on an upper scale course and knock it - but not this one for the price. Also, the clubhouse prices are very reasonable.

Very enjoyable course, great layout and fast/slight and tough undulating greens. It's really worth playing this course. We played with another couple which made the day better. The course should have signage off the main road, first time playing here was a guess if we were in right place as it's a mile of winding road to the course. Put this course on your list. If you're an average player, then play the Gold tee blocks (5600 yds) as oppose to white (6200 yds) - not necessary to force the second shots of 170 yds on the par 4's - on vacation, have fun. We would definitely play again when we come back to OC.

This is a wonderful course to enjoy. Great layout, beautiful scenery and a real challenge on the greens. It's in super condition, and worth your while to go out of your way to play this course.

From tee to green - excellent condition. This is an upper scale course. The only disappointment, and it's too bad I have to mention this - we played on Canada Day - no welcome "Happy Canada Day" on check in, no Red and White attire - where's the Patriotism? Management please take note. Otherwise, this course is a treat to play. As a 15 handicapper, I would recommend to play from the Yellow Tips as just over 5,900 yds is plenty. Whites are over 6,300yds.

Good challenge to the average golfer, great outing and layout, excellent power cart (worth mentioning) - very enjoyable. And you can shop for wine, taste sample onsite - very reasonable..

Course is in very good condition, best greens I've seen, and I have played about 15 different courses this season. Many long dog leg fairways, and challenges, somewhat feels as if you're playing up north.

I look for a nice course layout, with challenges and bends. I will definitely come back to play.

Very good condition given the time of year, Nov 30. A real challenge from the white tee blocks for the 14+ handicap, consider moving up to the next set (green tee blocks). Greens are tough to read, well placed bunkers, and real par 3's. Love the course.

Layout is a narrow strip, but works well. The course is in supreme condition, love to tee blocks, excellent greens. Definitely would be back to enjoy this course.

You will love this course if you haven't played yet. Great layout, back nine is tough. Bring your "A" game, use course management, and play the correct tee blocks. Blue tips are 6,400 yds, whites is enough at just over 6,000 yds.

This is a good course that everything you need if you want to go out and sharpen your skills. Somewhat unusual as you enter from the parking lot as the proshop is a house, but once on the course, I found it was great, although the bunkers are not good and the greens need to be cut. I would definitely play again, if you have only time for nine and want to get some swings in. It's worth it.
