Buffalo Creek Golf Course
Played On 01/10/2018Sand traps everywhere
They had recently top dressed the greens and applied way to much sand on most greens. From the fairway the greens looked like sand traps. Typical of the poor maintenance normally observed.

Had a nice time playing this course not to much trouble to get into. Played the same ball for the entire round which is an accomplishment for me. Only draw back were the greens. Let me explain. Greens very forgiving however it seems that too much water is being applied. Approach shots leave a big deep ball mark a sign of too much water and the greens are very scared. However the do roll fairly well when not directed off line by the scared areas.

It is apparent that they have stopped watering the tee boxes, fairways and rough. I have never seen these areas in such bad shape. The greens however were spectacular!
I would hate to be a parent of one of the school's students in the golf program spending all that money and have to play on those conditions.

Tis course is well worth the opportunity to play it. During the winter season it is almost impossible to get a tee time unless you want to pay $99.00
My experience was ruined by Golf Now as the course had been oversewed and it was cart path only! Fairways are very wide so the amount of walking was more than I could comfortably walk. By the time I reached the 13th hole I was spent.

Suggest that a mid to high handicapper play the white tees. Even though it is only 5800 it is a challenge. The blues are too much at 6475 yes unless you average 225 off the tee. Par 3's are also long.

An enjoyable atypical Florida course. Great greens. Not a great deal of water or traps but you still must be careful where you place the ball.
John is telling the truth. The greens are super but once again you get people trying to kill weeds with chemicals in the summer in Florida. If we don't get our summer rain pattern, you can burn up an entire course. The course has gone from a 4* to a 2* in 6 weeks. Hope we get rain soon.
