I heard about this course through some friends in Nashville who played it last Fall and recommended it highly. I stopped by on my way home from a visit to The Honors Course. I mention that because I can now say without a doubt that there is no other course in the State of Tennessee that has nine holes anywhere near as good as those at Sweetens Cove. The golf is absolutely extraordinary, and is solidly on a world class level. Each hole presents a unique strategic challenge, and the visual presentation of the course is like nothing else within a 500 mile radius. It is reminiscent at times of Pine Valley, Pinehurst, and a number of the famed layouts in GB&I. Also, the detail work in the bunkers and greens makes one feel as if they are in a different state or country, all together. I absolutely could not believe that this course exists in Tennessee. Do yourself a favor and go play this amazing layout. In addition to being beautiful, it is incredibly fun! The greens are in fantastic shape, and their size and contour present a challenge and level of shotmaking options that you can only find on a small handful of courses throughout the world. I was so impressed that I joined as a National Member on the spot. Sweetens Cove is easily one of America's best courses!
