First Time on course

This course is exactly what you look for in a daily destination in New England golf. My son and I are both 12's and looked forward to trying to shoot around an 85 as we were new to the course . He shot a 91 and I shot a 93. Just had trouble with the speed and break of the greens and the chipping into the greens played into that as well. Exactly what we wanted though- we had heard how challenging it is and it did not disappoint. Not overly long as we looked at a number of long wedges or mid irons into the greens. Nothing easy though about the greens. Many are elevated and require you to be under the hole. Pace of play was really smooth.

Well manicured and in great shape tee to green. fairways are tight and smooth. Must keep the ball in play though- errant shots can kill a hole. I am anxious to get back knowing the course a bit now.

As we were standing on the 17th tee waiting for the group in front to clear the owner?/head superintendent? pulled up in a cart and asked how our round was. It seemed genuine and really impressed me. We chatted for a bit and he told us about dropping a crazy number of trees over the past three years- like 220 or so. He said how overgrown it was and how the clearing of that really helped the course and the growth. I thought it was cool anyhow

I am a member at a local course which caters to the high handicapper. I try to play the better courses around with my son and my brothers and this is one of the best I've played locally. I will play Lake of Isles ( which I did last two years) in two weeks but I think this is better. I'm playing The Ranch in June and anxious to compare as it has been a few years since I've been there. This is definitely a course you want to play if you can get to it. The pub was great too as well. Big sandwiches and good drinks.

I'll be back there by July

Wednesday morning

I enjoyed this course as it was the first time I have ever played here. I am a 9 so I played the tips and it helped make some holes more of a stretch. I say that because the blue tees (I saw no whites) were pretty short as the course is not too long. It does require some target play and I thought the best part of the course is the approach into many tricky greens. Few straight or level putts and the greens were in really nice shape. Guys at the clubhouse were great and welcoming.

the drawacks- cart paths were an adventure. I realize how tough it is once you lose these and they wash out but they need some serious work

fairways were pretty good but I found that i rolled it over a few times

unfortunately the immediate rough on some holes was quite spotty - only moved to grass a couple times as some lies were simply unfair or unplayable- guess the PGA won't send my check this month after reading that

I like the course - If you are a straight hitter and can putt you could really score here

beautiful scenery the whole round

First time

I’m around a 10 so I played the tips. The course is not really long at all but needs to be played to understand the targets. I liked the challenge of hitting into the greens. Many tight approaches and the Ross greens are in great shape and there are not many straight or flat putts. The fairways were good in some areas and spotty in others. I’m a half-full type so I just roll the ball over. The negative was that there were barren areas just off fairway. I again just played a comparable lie with some grass. The black tees made it a challenge Staff was great. Cart guy got me gassed up cart and it was pretty dead so he encouraged me to play a bunch of holes. I played 27 in about 3.5 hours

Good deal

Played at 7:15 on a Tuesday morning. 18 holes in just over three hours. Course is quite manageable. Greens needed to be cut but two days of rain made it impossible. Enjoyable and worth 15$.
