Waverly Woods Golf Course
Played On 06/20/2016Ups and downs at Waverly Woods
Waverly Woods has a friendly staff and some challenging holes, but like many "development" courses some holes feel like they were carved out of land unsuitable for houses. Front nine is harder than the back. Some holes are quite hilly. If you hit your drive to the right slope you can catch extra yards.

Even the novice golfer will enjoy playing this course for the views while it will still test better golfers. I played a Sunday from the gold tees and a Thursday from the whites and there wasn't much of a difference except on 17 where I could not clear the water from the whites. Big price difference between Sunday and Thursday but it was more crowded Thursday perhaps because Sunday is a getaway day for some. Lots of blind shots but the fairways are wide and I did not have any trouble finding my ball in the rough.
Amherst Golf Club

We tried this course because Cherry Hill was being aerated. For a nine-hole course it is difficult to get around because several holes converge tees and greens in the middle and there are no signs or paths to guide you. There is nothing special about any hole. The par four 8th and long par 3 9th holes actually share a fairway so you are warned not to tee off until the 9th fairway clears. So for this experience my threesome was charged more than $100, including carts.
Ocean City Golf Club - Seaside
Played On 10/23/2013Great Value for the Money
Seaside is a good choice for the budget-minded golfer going to Ocean City. The course is not as scenic or as close to the water as its sister course, Newport Bay, but still has its attractions. This is very much an old-style course with many doglegs. Accuracy is more important than length.
Thanks for nice review. Arthur Hills loved the terrain at Waverly Woods so much he decided to move very little dirt and lay the holes right on the natural land for the most part. The land provides the strategy - only 33 bunkers on the entire golf course - most courses have 2-3 times as many or even more!
Look forward to serving you again sometime!
