Eastmoreland Golf Course
Played On 09/11/2018Interesting layout
First time playing so my car's GPS had me park at the auxiliary lot. Layout wasn't bad... however after finishing #13, there were no signs directing you to #14. It took a minute before I realized you take the public sidewalk next to the roadway outside of the fence to find the next hole. A sign would be a big help. Greens were a little on the slow side but it was drizzling during my round. Predominantly par 4s and only a couple 3s.
Sah-Hah-Lee Golf Course
Played On 09/03/2018Decent for iron practice
Came here as I'm playing a better course the following day and wanted to get some good iron practice in. The course has foot golf holes along side all of the greens which was interesting (assuming they have specific days for foot golf though). The course layout was a bit odd with no clear flow on certain holes. Thankfully my playing partners have played before so they could guide me to the next hole the few times I got turned around.
My biggest issue was the course conditions. I had an 8 am tee time so the course was wet to begin with. On three of the holes, the staff were watering three of the greens (while we were waiting). After my tee shot and approaching the green, I found my line involved going through standing water on the green. It wouldn't have been bad but the greens were so slow to begin with (and covered in fertilizer so it affected your line to begin with). Another issue was with the grass in general. In the attached photo, you can see half clover and half weeds. Outside of that, there are a lot of bare spots. This issue rolled over onto the tee boxes as well. Some of the tee boxes were torn up pretty bad and were not level.
All in all, for $12, it wasn't bad and I'd probably return but speed the greens up a bit. They were SO SLOW.
