Middle of January and the course still in absolute fantastic shape. During COVID, a small group of my friends and I meet from all over the state here once every 3 or 4 months. Greens roll true, fairways look amazing (relatively speaking of course) and even though course is in the woods, there aren’t those pesky leaves all over the place. Course layout of here and the Azaleas is quite challenging, and an experience that’s worth the drive every single time.

Ever since changing ownership hands this place has consistently gone down hill. It seems as if every corner they can cut they do to save a penny. Little Mirimichi (previous 9 hole course) has turned into a glaring eye sore of drainage run off. The course upkeep is worse than the city courses I frequent. It used to be a scene from golf magazine, and now there are weeds everywhere, greens have miscellaneous grass growing throughout with fungus growing on the edges, boxes and fairways are hard as a rock and even our scorecards were on printer paper. There were groups ahead that added at least an hour to our round, all on the back 9 after catching the twosome in front of us on hole 9. The staff I dealt with were very kind and helpful in trying to help me and quite honestly I feel sorry for them. I would happily pay green fees similar to previous prices. Yes, the green fees have been cut by 50-60 percent, but I’d say the experience has lost every bit of its luster, and I will not be returning any time soon. Keep the people working with the guests, and gut everything else.

My last couple of trips had been meh when going to mirimichi so I was hesitant to accept invite to go out. Luckily, I did and the course is back to tip top shape like I remember. Well kept, impeccable greens, and fairways were perfect. Can’t wait to go back!
