Continental Golf Course
Played On 05/03/2019Nice Views of the Mountains! Course and Facilities could use some TLC!
Arrived about 11:45 AM for a 12:30 PM tee time that I booked on GolfNow.Com. Have not played this course in a long time so I thought I would give it a try again. The guy at the bag drop was gone so I just left my bag at the stand. Went to the golf shop and met Kevin who looked up my reservation and said I was good to go. He said go ahead and take off whenever you see the first tee empty, the course was not that busy. Used the restroom and had to inform the shop the paper towels were out. Wonder if the grill employees have their own stash? Went back down to the bag drop and met Billie who said just put your clubs on any cart. Grabbed a cart and headed to the first tee. Met my other single who joined me, Leo, nice guy. Drove off the tee and after my first fairway shot discovered both sand bottles were completely empty with absolutely no sand available on the course. I like to be a good steward of the course but today I could not. Lots of standing water on the course and quite a bit near some cart paths, I mean 6-8 inches in some places. Pace of play was good, fairway conditions and aprons were OK. Greens were good.
In summary, the course has been here forever and I feel that Arcis should spend a few bucks and make it a little better, great location, nice exec 18 if you want to play a fast round.
Nature Walk Golf Club
Played On 10/13/2016Nice Executive Course if your short on Time!
This is a nice little course if you are short on time, want to practice the short game, want to walk a pretty course with nice scenery.
The layout is a little confusing at first, especially placement of # 9 and # 10 tee boxes.
Clubhouse amenities are satisfactory, the grill provides sandwiches and drinks at reasonable prices.
Only complaint was some of the greens are in bad shape, either a mold or fungus growing on the greens, they need some TLC.Tee boxes and fairways in good shape.
Desert Mirage Golf Course
Played On 09/26/2015Good Course to get a quick 9 in!
Overall, not bad for a park like setting golf course, however, the grounds crew should improve the condition of the fringes. Some are very barren, lots of weeds and dirt in some areas. Your cart will take a beating on the paths, full of holes and water. Go Slow!
Teeing areas and greens not bad, condition of fairways OK.
Think the greens fees are a bit high unless they improve the conditions around the greens
Union Hills Golf & Country Club
Played On 07/27/2015Wide Open forgiving fairways, yet challenging
Have played the course before and enjoyed my round again. The club is well cared for, greens and fairways are well manicured, employees are pleasant but still cater to the members. Had a 6:30 AM start as a single, they paired me with another single, but a club member intervened with the starter and seemed to re-direct all the start times based off his wishes. We had to literally run to the 1st tee to catch another twosome, (never did catch them) so the the members desired start time could me accommodated. Yes, you have to use the hot peasant bathroom off the proshop, big deal, I still feel it was a good rate for the time played.
Would recommend this course, you will have a good time!
Quail Run Executive Golf Course
Played On 02/27/2015Crossover Snafu!
The course is challenging and is generally well kept, greens are in great shape, However.....................
The course is basically nine holes and you play from two sets of tees to make it eighteen. The challenge is on busy days, the pro shop has to maintain absolute control on who is teeing off and when. I have played here before and had no problems. Unfortunately on this day, the pro shop had lost complete control of who was teeing off, whether confirmed times or crossovers. I was about 45 minutes late in teeing off, took 4 hours to play 14 holes on an executive 18!!!!
Had to leave as I had an appointment.
RCSC has to work on improving the scheduling on busy days.Glad these folks are only controlling tee times and not the nation's air traffic!
Hillcrest Golf Club at Sun City West
Played On 02/06/2015A lot nicer courses in the NW Valley!
This course is owned by a company that runs some other very nice courses. It seems like this one is just being run into the ground as a loss. Try to avoid playing here as conditions are always wet and muddy, doesn't matter the time of year. Think they over-water everything. Need a 4-wheeler to navigate some of the cart paths, they seem to have a never ending cart path renewal project going on for years.
Times were running about 45 min-1 hour behind, due to them catering to some season members earlier in the day. When you complain about something their response is you can spend $ 150 in Scottsdale this time of year or come here....
Sundance Golf Club
Played On 06/19/2014Stunning Views, Challenging Split Fairways!
If you don't mind seeing houses 100% of the time, some noise from the I-10 on a few holes, empty ball washers, and a lot of wildlife (lizards, snakes, road runners and pesky ground squirrels, the course is a great value, well manicured, very challenging for the average golfer and stunning mountain views!
The split fairways take some course management to get used to. Never saw a ranger, a few twosomes and singles appeared out of nowhere and skipped ahead of us? Bring an extra sleeve of balls or take your chances with the snakes!
Pueblo El Mirage Golf Club
Played On 06/07/2013Friendly Staff, Nicely maintained carts, Tee Boxes and Fairways are good, Nice water features, Greens and bunkers require attention
This was my first time playing the course. Went with a buddy and we got lost a couple times wandering through the neighborhood trying to find the next hole. Signage need some improvement, definitely not a walking course due to the way the holes and neighborhood is laid out. There is no course ranger, so you can have hackers in front and an over anxious group behind so watch for flying balls!! Some of the bunkers were completely overrun with weeds! The greens require immediate attention, bare spots and sand all over. Not happy with over all value. Would play again, but at rock bottom price.
Sun City South Golf Course
Played On 05/17/2013Twisting Fairways and Challenging Greens!
The golf course staff is friendly and very helpful. The course is well maintained for a public course. Don't be fooled, the fairways are not all straight! The greens are challenging and the pin placements are as well.
Fees on Golf Now are just about right for this course, would not pay regular wall-up rates for this course. The rental carts are clean and well maintained.
Had a great day, will definitely be back!
Riverview Golf Course
Played On 03/14/2013Challenging greens but wide open fairways!
Here is a course right in Sun City, convenient, close but still very challenging with not one perfectly flat green and very tough pin placements. The fairways are wide enough with a little room for forgiveness. The staff, organization and rental carts are top notch. Recommend playing here for a great afternoon or morning!
