Nice layout. Not too difficult. Enjoyable round. Course has some character - not a boring course. Course drains well - dry while other courses may be wet.
Old South Golf Links

Course in very good shape considering they had 6" of rain the week before. Greens were in good condition although on the slow side. Course did not over seed but still in good shape. Best of the three courses I played in the Hilton Head are.
Robber's Row at Port Royal Golf Club
Played On 03/03/2020Only good conditions on this course were the greens (only areas overseeded). Fairways had sparse grass. Rough was dormant Bermuda grass. The course is on a low island, so the soil is very sandy. I understand Hilton Head island was under watering restrictions which could account for the condition of the course.
Casselberry Golf Club

Interesting course layout. Somewhat tight but somewhat short so don't need driver much. Course winds through a community (not a gated community). Fairways and tees in fair condition. Greens in good condition. Has D/R, chipping and putting greens. Can do better for the money. Having said that I would play here again.
Timacuan Golf Club

Cold and windy day (55 & 20mph wind). Course is great value for money ($50) compares with $150 courses near Disney. Bit of a drive from Disney area (45 mins), but worth the drive. Great layou on a championship course. 19th hole was fantastic ($8 pitcher of beer, $7 for Yengling). A fair course for intermediate/advanced golfer, a beginning golfer might struggle a little with some of the forced carries (150-180 yards). One of my favorite courses in the Orlando area.
Thank you for visiting us at Timacuan Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Eagle Dunes Golf Club

Course was overall very good. Fairways were spotty. Greens were nice, normal speed. Very good value. A little out of the way, northwest corner of metropolitan Orlando. If you've been to Orlando it takes an hour to cross town.
We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. It is great to see you had an enjoyable time on the course and we hope you join us for another round soon.
Ventura Country Club
Played On 02/16/2017Tight Course
Holes close to each other. Several shared t-boxes. Good condition. Long Par 3s, only 1 under 170 yards.
Ongoing work on course, planting trees. Worker revving tractor during swing. Course will be toward bottom of my playlist. Having said that, I've played more expensive courses in Orlando that I didn't enjoy as much.
Royal St. Cloud Golf Links - Red/White Course
Played On 02/15/2017Windy Day
Course is generally in good condition, although there are some spots that could use improvement. Staff very friendly. Had to wait for range balls which were included in greens/cart fee. Will play this course again. Have played all 3 nines, all are in similar shape and layout. Links course that a challenge and fun to play.
Schenectady Municipal Golf Course
Played On 09/22/2015Good Muni Course
Excellent municipal course. A fun course to play. Whites tees (on the front 9) are a little short - Drive and short iron. Back 9 is 3-(par 3, 4, and 5). For the longer hitters, most Par 5's can be reached in 2 with a good tee shot and fairway wood. This is one of my top 5 courses open to the public in the NY-Capital region, and we have maybe 20 good courses within an hour's drive time.
Since the original posting the course maintenance has greatly improved. I now rate Schenectady Muni at 4 1/2 stars. You should play this course.
Orchard Creek Public Golf Club
Played On 09/17/2015Orchard Creek
One of the premier public courses in the NY-Capital Region. Enjoy playing this course, even with the blind shots. Fairly fast greens. Challenging but fair. Nice views of the Helderberg escarpment. Rates are graduated, expensive before 10am, reasonable from 10-noon, good after noon.
Stadium Golf Club
Played On 04/08/2015Stadium
Stadium is built on sand based soil, so it's usually in good condition, especially after rain. It is a fairly easy course, no hazards (water on 1 hole, no bunkers).
I generally play this course early in the year as a warm up course - it's open whenever there's no snow on the ground. Charge too much to play ($3-5 more than better courses in the area). Has a nice driving range. Not a bad course, just too many other better courses to play in the area.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Highlands Reserve Golf Club.
