Winter Pines Golf Club
Played On 03/12/2024Great Muni!
Been in Florida four weeks so far, this was our ninth course. The conditions here were the best we'd experienced on this trip, and most were more expensive. Friendly, helpful staff. Paired with two men who knew the course. Carts in good shape, layout kept it interesting, but not terribly challenging. Very busy, but pace of play was good. Definitely worth the money!!
Really??
Need phone number of this Club. Seems like Golf Now has been hacked!!
Black Rock Golf Course
Played On 10/27/2021Perfectly Conditioned
Originally purchased a GolfNow round for two on Saturday, October 16. Unfortunately, it started raining buckets about two hours prior to our tee time. The club is about 45 minutes away, so we called the pro shop and they graciously issued a rain check for a later date. We were able to utilize it for our weekday round on a Wednesday. They honored the rain check and also issued a nine-hole rain check because of the difference between the weekend round we originally booked and the weekday we played. This was unexpected and greatly appreciated. As for the course, let me say this: we play as many different courses as we can get to, mostly on the eastern seaboard. This year, we have also played in New England, southern Florida, and Hawaii. Black Rock was by far the BEST CONDITIONED and BEST KEPT course we have played this year. The fairway grass was perfect, the rough was not unfair, the bunkers had plentiful, decent sand. One or two greens had bad spots, but they were small and did not interfere. As for difficulty, the greens are postage-stamp-size and were very fast. When one was fortunate enough to land on one, the ball tended to roll off. The course challenged you to make your shot if you wanted to score low. Kudos to the superintendent and staff for making the course great and our afternoon very pleasurable. We'll be back!
Country Club of Hilton Head
Played On 06/06/2020Outstanding Condition
Only negative about this course was pace of play:. 4:20. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Course was in immaculate condition. In spite of being in a community, the presence of houses was understated, and the course was aesthetically pleasing. Layout was challenging but not overwhelming. Greens were fast and true. After the first nine, several groups dropped out, and we were able to determine that a foursome ahead of our twosome was responsible for the tedious pace. They seemed oblivious to the fact that others were also on the course. In fairness, we didn't complain. Rather, we looked for alligators (only saw two) and balls. Can't rate other amenities because they were closed by the time we were done. Best-conditioned of the four courses we played on this visit to HHI. Since all have been above average, this is high praise.
Eagle's Pointe Golf Club
Played On 05/30/2020Every Bit as Good as Other Area Courses
Read reviews of other players, which gave me pause, since there is an abundance of choices in the HHI area. Went with it, persuaded by the price on GolfNow. Totally enjoyed the course! Setting was aesthetically pleasing. Course was in good shape. A reviewer's criticism of cart paths was, in my opinion, unwarranted, as the biggest issue was tree roots lifting the asphalt. To be expected, if you want trees, and the enhanced the course. My (small) criticism is that the clippings weren't removed on holes 16 and 18 after mowing--fairways and greens aprons. Other than that, the whole experience was everything one would expect of a course in this golf-rich area.
Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club
Played On 05/26/2019Surpassed Expectations
Expected an average course. Dove Valley was so much better!! Course was in great shape, layout was enjoyable. There were some beautiful views. We were paired with Jeff and Dante who were fun and easy-going. Staff was very friendly. Made for a great golf day!! You won't regret playing this course.
The Links Course at Shenandoah Valley
Played On 08/15/2016Don't think it deserves the ratings it's been given.
I was quite happy to give this course a try, especially in light of the Hot Deal price on GolfNow ($10). It did not, however, live up to the reviews and ratings. The women's tee boxes needed work, both for grass coverage and some were sloped or turtle-backed. Greens were in very good shape. Fairways were nicely manicured. The rough, however, was very high and thick. A lot of clover and crabgrass. Seemed that even good tee shots that landed on the fairways ran to the rough. It's been unseasonably dry, or the creeks/streams could have been an issue. As it is, the beds were mostly dry. Staff was very friendly, let us go out early. Pro shop is very small. Didn't even check out the bar/grill, as we were passing through.
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to review our course, as we are always looking for golfer feedback as we look to continuously improve!
The Highlands Golf Club at Fisher Mountain
Played On 08/14/2016Gorgeous, challenging course.
This course is in the Potomac Highlands--gorgeous mountainous area of WV. It is a mountain course, with all the associated challenges. The course was in excellent shape, only negative comment was some golfers are not repairing their divots. I'd read the reviews on GolfNow and expected a good experience. I was not disappointed. Firstly, we received excellent service from both GolfNow and the course, allowing my twosome to combine two different tee times in order to get the best rates and still play together. We teed off just as the busy time was ending, and were behind a foursome, who courteously allowed us to play through when we caught up, so pace of play was good.
We often visit Massanutten Resort in Harrisonburg, VA and have played all the local courses, including one called Packsaddle Ridge. This course is about an hour west of Harrisonburg, and reminded us of Packsaddle. It is a hidden jewel and I would recommend it to anyone who will be in this area. One note: It is called The Highlands at Fisher Mountain Resort, which will come in handy when trying to find it with GPS. We kept asking ourselves: where are the houses? Where is the resort? This course was remotely located: a matter of taste, but I appreciate mountains and woods. If you do, also, please go there. You won't regret it!
Pine Creek Golf Course
Played On 04/26/2014The only grass was on the greens
Chose this course because price/savings indicated it should be decent. This was true of the greens, ONLY, which were well tended and very green. The fairways were covered with dead, tamped down grass, and the dirt underneath was hardpan. It was like playing on concrete. Teeboxes (women's) were marginally better. Most of them looked temporary. Not much attention to detail at this course. We were to be paired up, but after waiting past our tee time for our playing partners, we teed off (no one behind us at this point). Course was busy, but pace of play was good. Had we known the condition of the course, we would not have played here. Was not worth the $33/pp we paid.
Royal St. Cloud Golf Links - Red/White Course
Played On 7/4/2013Course has three nines--played red and white--in great shape, great value!
Golf courses in FL in mid-summer can face challenges. This one was green and well-maintained:greens and fairways were well-grassed and the roughs weren't overly long. Grounds staff were very visible, but versed in golf etiquette. Course required shots, but didn't punish you unfairly for an errant swing--in most cases. It looked quite Scottish, with waste bunkers scattered about. Water birds were plentiful--saw only one alligator--but he was good-sized. Thoroughly enjoyed this course. Want to return to play the ""blue" nine.
Iron Forge at Penn National Golf Club & Inn
Played On 9/15/2012Well-maintained, friendly staff, nice area
Very nice course. Located in a residential development, but the residences do not interfere with the course. Nearby mountains provide nice scenery. Course was in great shape. You may BYOB, with ice and coolers provided. Friendly staff. Both courses are great, although the Founders Course has a bit more character, in my opinion. Penn National is one of my favorite places to play in this area, and I play here frequently. Never had a bad experience.
Your feedback is important to us, campin. Thank you for sharing your 5-star experience. We look forward to seeing you again at the course soon! Thanks for choosing Eagle's Pointe Golf Club.
