Wet and slow, but worth a visit.

Course was wet, probably as they come out of overseeding. Green were still very slow, especially earlier in the morning before they dried out. Course was challenging and fun, but nothing that wowed me. Placement off the tee is key, greens aren’t that big. All in all worth a trip from phoenix once.

Always fun and score-able.

I play here about 3 to 5 times a year. The course conditions, mainly the greens are usually in great shape. Today was no exception, although a little slower than normal due to Aeration recovery, but rolled true. The front nine, mountain side, has several fun elevated tee shots. Pace of play is usually pretty good, although the group in front today was a little slow on the fairway (throat clear, desert) looking for their balls. Still played in 4 1/4hrs. Worth the drive from Chandler area.

Nice Greens but always seems a bit gimmicky.

I play this course once every few years. Each time it reminds me why I always wait to come back. Greens rolled really well, which is usually what I care about. But so many holes are gimmicky, blind teens shots on drivable par 4’s, a par 5 that driver off the tee puts you in the desert, and they’ve made the finishing hole a par 3 now (#1 tee used to be 18 green). Pretty tough for a high handicap, and gimmicky for a scratch golfer. I would recommend playing once though.
