Duckers Lake Golf Course
Played On 09/29/2014Fun Course Slow Play
There were several foursomes in front of me and the pace of play was rather slow. Granted, I was playing by myself and that made it seem slower.
Overall, the course is in good shape as usual an I had a good time.

I had forgotten how much I like this course being that it's been about three years since I last played it. It is an absolutely awesome course. Very well maintained and also challenging. Most holes require you to aim at a specific area of the fairway in order to have a decent successive shot. But stay where you need to be and it will reward you since the fairways are in such great shape.
I highly recommend this course. If you live in central Kentucky or are visiting it's a must play.
Longview Golf Course
Played On 9/10/2012Good But Under Maintenance
I have played this course several times this summer. Holes 5-8 are currently under repair due to reseeding. Otherwise, it is definitely a bang-for-your-buck course. However, it is vitally important you keep your drives and approaches accurate. Most fairways are closely tree-lined so if you stray from the fairways, you will be punished. Going long or left/right of the greens can end in high scores due to slopes and obstacles around many of the greens.
Once this course is fully repaired (holes 5-8), it will be even better but still a good challenge.

I have played two rounds at this course. It is a CC so it is well maintained. It is easy to get to and the staff was very courteous. They have electric carts (always a bonus!). The golfnow.com times can be sparse, but I'm sure they give priority to members. No issue there though.
I had my personal best round there (89) due to a +1 back nine. If I had focused a little more, I could have done much better on the front. It is a great course that rewards accurate tee shots. Stay in the fairway and you can score well. Get into the rough and it will be a different story as the primary cut is rather long.
All in all, highly recommended and it is within 30 minutes of Lexington and 40 minutes of Frankfort.
