Greens just punched, bunkers not raked that morning by maintenance staff. Pity this course used to be a gem, but since newer management company took over it has gone steadily down hill.

Very fun and interesting golf course. Lots of water hazards. Lots of elevation changes on the back nine. Only complaint is greens were somewhat slow. Great value for the money!

Was able to get a deal for a single tee time on GolfNow, but rack rates are very pricey due to proximity to South Lake Tahoe. Fun course though.

The River Ridge courses have gone downhill considerably since American Golf took over management. The greens used to be fast and true. That said, the courses are a good backup option if other local courses are booked up.

This is an overall decent oourse if there are not other options available nearby. Unfortunately both courses have taken a few steps down since being managed by American Golf. Both courses used to be much better, particularly the greens. No other options available that day, and got a great deal thru GolfNow, so decent golf is better than no golf!

Pre-purchased a 12 noon tee time, figuring I could finish before dark. The course moved my tee time to 12:10, and I didn't tee off until 12:25. Disappointed I didn't get to finish the round due to course mismanagement. The course however is beautiful and well maintained. I love the course itself. I used to make the drive up the hill much more frequently, but am more apt recently to not make the drive, as the type of experience mentioned above is happening way too frequently.

Played the first time, very challenging but fair golf course. Course was in excellent shape. Pace of play was average. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Overall very enjoyable day golfing!

Beautiful course and location, meticulously maintained, challenging but fair. Could not beat the price or value paid on GolfNow for playing a high end course like this.

Nice course layout and condition. Pace of play was ridiculously slow. My tee time was delayed because they had too many players and not enough golf carts. They were waiting for players to finish so to turn in their carts before they could send additional players out. Although I didn't get to the first tee until after my tee time because of this, I needn't have rushed because the course was so backed up we did not tee off for a while anyway. I would think a higher end course would not overbook, and would have enough golf carts for peak course booking times.

Booked a 12:37 tee time on a Wednesday, figuring that would give plenty of time to finish before sunset. Arrived to the first tee, one foursome in the fairway, and 3 more foresomes waiting to tee off. The marshall came by and said he expected the pace to be 5 hours and 40 minutes. Really? On a Wednesday? If we had actually finished 18 holes, it probably would have been about that. Apparently this course overbooks tee times or does not enforce any pace of play.
Now on to the course conditions. Greens were shaggy, slow, and bumpy. Fairways were in poor condition due to lack of water, and tee boxes were pretty sad. The layout of the course is actually very interesting, and this is the one benefit I saw in playing the course. It has potential if it were properly maintained and not overbooked. This course looks like a good deal online, but I would never play it again no matter what the price. Not worth the time spent.

Able to take advantage of hot muggy weather and Sunday NFL football to get a fantastic deal on one of the best courses in Ventura County with no crowds. Course was in excellent shape!

Parts of the golf course (especially holes 2-5) are situated with a gorgeous backdrop of rock formations on the adjacent hillside. This view is my favorite feature of the golf course. Otherwise the course is OK. It's not kept up very well, and my biggest complaint is that the greens always seem to be SLOW. Takes some getting used to the shaggy greens.

Got a hot deal on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a beautiful day on the course. Typically not busy on Sundays, so played 18 in 4 hrs 20 min. Greens are always in good shape, but fairways are pretty torn up. Because of the course condition, I would not pay full fare to play here, but if you can get a hot deal, it's a great value.

Greens had just been punched, but the most beautiful and challenging course I've ever played. Because of punched greens, the course was empty, so I played a replay. Bring lots of balls.

I love this course, and play it whenever I'm in the area. The course is beautifully maintained and is fair but challenging! I highly recommend this course!
