Highly recommended course just outside Tucson. Friendly staff, nice practice range and putting green. My twosome played in 3:15 mostly because we are rusty and looked for errant shots too often. Fairways and greens in great condition. Tee markers were placed in many uneven areas but this could be easily remedied. As many have said, bunkers are TERRIBLE. I've played here over the past three years and they haven't improved. Just agree with your playing partners to lift and drop outside. Really, they should let them grow over and mow.
I'll definitely play again in the summer when the snowbirds are away. It's one of the best $40 options in Tucson.

I called on Tuesday afternoon for a Wednesday, May 12th, Tee-Time. I was not told anything about the course condition or the fact that they had punched the greens on the back nine that day. Further, they failed to tell me that they would be punching the front nine greens the next day (the day I was to play).
So when we show up, we're told that we would be playing the back nine twice. Since is was now too late to get a similar tee-time at another nearby course, we decided to play. BIG MISTAKE.
What kind of customer service is it when they don't advise you when requesting a tee time that the conditions won't be what you would expect. I've played this course before and, other than the bunkers being nearly unplayable, it has always been in decent condition and warranted a repeat play. But now, I don't know if I will ever be back (and I live only six miles away). I've played dozens of golf courses in my life and I've been advised, when requesting a tee-time, of overseeding, aeriating, flooding, et. al. numerous times. I was always grateful of their honesty and rewarded such with a future booking. It's unfortunate that I can't say the same for Canoa Ranch.

Everyone from the front desk, Marshall, and cart jockey were friendly and knowledgeable. The course was in fantastic shape considering it's the middle of the summer in Tucson. The greens were a little bit slow but smooth. We played as a twosome in 3 hours. The layout is diverse and very interesting. We will definitely return when it's a little cooler

I played this course yesterday with a 944 tee time. As a twosome we got off early and the pace of play was only 3 hours. We didn't encounter anyone in front of us the entire round and no one behind us. My two general complaints are number one there were three to five greens that were in horrible condition. I've played other courses in the Green Valley and Southern Tucson area this summer and have not encountered greens that were as bad as these. Also in the front of a couple greens they had been over watered and a ball coming in in the air would simply plug. I played this course last year at about the same time and experience the same problem with four to five greens. Other greens were in great shape so I can't understand why they have a problem with some of the greens. As a full-time resident as opposed to being a snowbird it always makes me mad that the course conditions are catered to the snowbirds IE they are in great condition in the winter and in the summer they suffer.

I got the $10 hot deal plus the tax was slightly under $15. I got exactly what I paid for. The course needs a lot of work in both the maintenance and upkeep. There were downed trees that had not been removed there was long rough that needed grooming and there were bare patches in front of and on some of the greens. I didn't have great expectations therefore I wasn't really disappointed. I will say the pace of play was good three and a half hours for a foursome. I would not recommend this course to a friend and I will probably not play it again.
