LT Greens

The greens at LT are the best I’ve played all summer. The fairways are in good shape too. The staff appears to water consistently, providing for a pleasant experience. If you play off the fairway, your experience won’t be so good!

Walk in the Park

The pace of play was excellent; about three hours to play 18 holes.

Fairways were in great shape, greens a bit bumpy. They are coming in and should be true in a few weeks.

Plenty of water is being used, so conditions should be even better, as the summer rolls on.

Looking forward to my next round.

First experience on Panther

First time on panther layout. Other two trips to OCN. I played Crooked Cat.

I enjoyed the layout, although it was helpful to have a local in our fioursome to draw attention to specific features of many of the holes.

Pin placements were brutal, consistently far left or right on very large undulating greens. Ball speed and direction was hampered due to being very grainy. Putts running diagonally through the grain were extremely difficult to navigate.

Suggestion: look at where the tee markers are set on the par threes. From the green markers, every par three, except one fell within a distance between 170 - 177. A little variety would have been welcome.

I marked “Staff Friendliness” as fair because there weren’t many staff members around to interact with. The guy at the bag drop area said two words, the guy in the ProShop said two words, gave me my slip and I was out the door. There was nobody outside to direct me to the Panther layout. Granted, they have signs, but anyone new to the layout could be confused.

The starter at Panther # 1 was very friendly, as was the lady in the snack bar.

All in all, I had a good time with my group and will come back again in the fall, when I return for another golf vacation. Having a green/ white combo on the score card would bring more variety to the round of gold, since it would involve using more clubs in your bag during the 18 holes.

Interesting layout

Your tee shot is the key. You want to always be short of the pins. The greens run from back to front. Hit your approach beyond the pin and you have no chance to stop the ball in most cases!

Several interesting holes, where placement off the tee is key. Will play again.

Challenging off the tees, but fair

First time, won’t be the last. Will play here my next trip to Orlando.

Loved the layout. If you can hit the fairways, you’ll score well. Errant tee shots will be wet all day!

Big, tricky greens. You need to be a good lag putter.. Hitting 13/14 fairways made my round pleasurable!

What club to use?

Enjoy the mtn. nine the most. Bring your GPS watch. W/o one, the course is difficult to navigate. There are few distance markers out there. There are no irrigation head distance markers. Bottom line; have a GPS source and you will have a good time.

Tee shot accuracy a must

Tees and greens in very good shape. Don’t try to bite off more than you can chew. In other words, if you want to enjoy your round and you don’t hit at least 250+ accurate drives off the tees, stay away from the black and blue tees, unless you want to scramble all day long.

Your second round will be more successful , just by knowing the layout better. Looking forward to playing again.

Nice day on the links

I enjoy the layout. As an 7 handicap, I stay away from the back tees. I’m not interested in beating myself up. I enjoy being able to use several clubs in my bag.

The only problem today was the pace of play due to 2-3 groups with zero etiquette on the golf course. They had no business playing from the blues. They were argumentative and continued to hold up several groups. Our back nine took three hours to play.

A ranger should drive the course every half hour to monitor pace of play. Any worker at the course could do this. I will play here again, but hope this issue will be looked into.

Good shape for summer play

Hit balls from the range before teeing off #1. Good grass surface. I enjoyed the course layout. Having GPS in the cart was helpful since my watch died after hole number 4! Having an 8 handicap, teeing off from the white tees gave me a chance to use a variety of clubs (7-PW ) for my approach shots.

The greens are coming in nicely, rolling consistently from #1-18. Fairway lies were also consistently good. I will definitely be back to enjoy another round.

Gem in the desert

The black/white tees support my 7/8 handicap nicely. Good ball striking will be rewarded. Make sure you bring your GPS watch!

Conditions of the course were very good.. Fairway lies were consistently excellent. The greens were slick, but consistent. They had many scars due to lazy people not repairing their ball marks well, but this did not interfere with the roll of the ball. It was more of a cosmetic issue..

I would definitely play here again..

Greens are in trouble

After playing this course several times, this is the first time I have played it and was disappointed.

The course was aerated a number of weeks ago and the greens are in rough shape. Bald spots on some, as well as general bumpiness. Some areas have been resoded in the rough, suggesting issues also.

The fairways are coming in nicely,. The traps are very consistent.

My overall rating is downgraded due to the condition of the greens.

I would not recommend this course right now. Hopefully, in a short time, the greens will come back and the course will return to its past spender.

Challenging for all handicappers

Regardless of it’s length, you have to keep the ball in play to score. Par threes are challenging from back tees, and the greens are tricky. If you are not familiar with them, you could end your round with several three putts! Play the green tees for nine and the white for nine. You will use nearly every club in your bag.

Good weather
Used cart

Dante's Inferno

I was expecting a warm day. At the last moment, I was switched to another cart to ride with someone. I didn't know there were two bottles of H2O in the first cart for me. They were not transferred to my new cart. Little did I know that there was no water, let me repeat , no water on the course for golfers to drink. Apart came by once during the round offering beverages, 5$ for a bottle of H2O. The greens were super scared from lazy golfers who wouldn't bend over to repair their ball marks. The overall experience was not positive. Wouldn't play here again. Spanish Trail and Paiute are far superior!

Rainy season woes

The course was very wet. With no cart paths, you had to constantly dodge wet ares all around the course. There re several deep cart tracks in the fairways and around the greens. Many irresponsible folders obviously played before we did over the past few days. The course really should have been closed all week with the rains. In the long tun, the condition of the course will suffer. Too bad , like the layout and would play again if conditions are improved .
