Springfield Golf Club
Played On 03/25/2017Best Winter Course in Eugene Area
This course drains better than any other course in the area during the winter. I prefer to play the front nine, as it has some steeper slopes that allow better runoff. Keep it in the fairway, and the ball won't plug in the winter. Great price, great staff.
Laurelwood Golf Course
Played On 06/24/2015Nice muni course, decent conditions, good value
First time playing a course in Eugene after moving from Phoenix, AZ. Obviously, the pines and lush conditions are a welcome change to the first desert conditions. This course allows dogs, so people are constantly walking their pets, which is fine as long as they are respectful of the golfers. There are some ground under repair areas on the course, but I attribute that to the drought that this area is currently having. Overall, I will definitely return. However, $30 for a cart rental is a little ridiculous.
The Phoenician Golf Club
Played On 06/08/2015Disappointed...
I expected more from one of the premier resorts in Phoenix. I have played all over the valley, and I finally made it our to the Phoenician when the prices dropped for summer.
I understand it is summer, but I shouldn't have to PUTT through ground under repair on your greens if I'm playing at a resort. I expect that from lesser courses, but not from the Phoenician. Fairways had ground under repair, rough had ground under repair, greens had ground under repairs. It was like I was playing a course in California during a severe drought. You are charging $10 for a hotdog and $8 for a beer, spend the money on water and get this course where it should be. I played Keirland last week and it was immaculate, like a resort course should be. Gold canyon, whirlwind, Troon North, and WigWam are all in much better shape right now than the Phoenician.
$30 for cart!! Yeah, that is the rate a course charges when they are sending the message that they want you walking, ouch!
