Cruiser at Seal Beach Navy Golf Course

We bought a golfnow "hot deal" but when we arrived we were told the rate was only for 9 holes and had to pay extra for an additional 9 holes. This NEW policy makes this course over priced and certainly not a "Hot Deal" from Golfnow.

Normally a great golf outing for my wife and I at this great little 9 hole track turned in to a 4.75 hour wait and hit. We unfortunately played behind a ONE MAN SCRAMBLE (never heard of such a thing) where each player in the foursome was hitting 2 balls on every shot and putt. It was like playing behind 8 golfers in the same group. Now multiply that by 6 or so groups out there and you can see why it was a nightmare. We play this course often and we're usually done within 3 hours (playing 9 holes twice) and it is usually a fun experience. My advice is to check before you book a round to make sure there's not a tournament in front of you.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Cruiser at Seal Beach Navy Golf Course. We hope to see you again in the future.

Great afternoon of golf with my wife. We played in 3 hours/ten minutes. Greens were in great shape, the bunkers groomed and the fairways lush. The t-boxes were improved as well. I think it's in the best shape it's been in a while. Staff was friendly and helpful. Looking forward to playing there again soon.

The hard, thin fairways give a golfer lots of roll. The greens are very soft, thick and slow allowing for many three putts. We found the sand bunkers were more like dirt bunkers with very hard bottoms. All of the tee ball markers were set way forward. The best part of our golf day was that it wasn't very crowded and we finished in 3 hours, ten minutes. Also, it was a good value.

My wife and I played in 3.5 hours and we only saw a few other golfers during our back 9 play. Course is in great shape. Fairways, greens, t-boxes are all as good as I've seen them in the last 4 years. Rough and bunkers are still in need of attention. We were lucky that we got out before the high school teams that use this course starting around 2:00.
Hello Damian, thank you for reviewing the course. Your feedback about the sand traps and rough are extremely important to us. We are working to get everything at the course up to par as the current condition is not the standard we strive to achieve. Please be assured that we are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game. We are glad to see you rated the rest of the course to be great during your game. We will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Currently this course is in great shape. My wife and I played 18 holes in 3 hours and 20 minutes. (Tee-off @ 12:10) The pro shop staff was super helpful and friendly, as were the many maintenance workers we encountered while on the course. They've done a good job on improving the conditions here. We'll be back.
Thank you for visiting us at Cruiser at Seal Beach Navy Golf Course. We appreciate your rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.

My wife and I played in 3 hour/15 minutes. The course is plush right now and the greens are in great shape. This area still has gopher issues, but if you're in the fairway it's decent. Bunkers are well maintained and the t-boxes are in good shape as well. We had a great time and never felt pressured.

Greens and fairways were punched and the course was very soft from watering. My wife and I played 18 in 3 hours twenty minutes. Lots of High School kids after 3:00. Keep your ball in the short grass as there are many gopher holes, bumps and dirt if you miss.

My wife and I played in 3 hours and 15 minutes. The best part of the course is the condition of the greens. They're in great shape. Most bunkers are devoid of real sand, more like dirt and have a hard clay bottom. The tee boxes are thin and if you're not in the fairway it's gopher hole city. Watch out for a sprained ankle if you're walking. We enjoyed the solitude.

Chose to play on MLK Holiday and it was packed with small children with their parents or grandparents. In addition, many high school age kids playing there too. I knew it would be a long day when the starter apologized before we tee'd off. The un-raked bunkers, and dozens of ball marks on the greens was very disappointing.

My wife and I love this track. We played 18 in 3 hours 15 minutes, teeing off at 12:15. Greens are in great shape. If you keep your ball in the fairway you'll have a decent lie but in the rough is brutal due to the numerous gopher/ground squirrel mounds and dirt. Bunkers are well sanded and the tee boxes are in good shape.

My wife, whose a beginner and I played 18 (went around twice) in 3 hours and 10 min. The course is in excellent shape. Fairways have thick grass, the T-boxes ok and the greens true and fast. The bunkers are in good shape as well. Quite and improvement from the last time I played here. Long carries to the green on several par 3's as most holes play into the wind and some are over 200 yards. As a bonus we love watching the jets, and helicopters land on the base next to the course.
Damian,
Thanks for the great review! We hope to see you again soon and hope your next experience yields a 5-star rating!

Great shape, fast, tough to read undulating greens. Fairways have plenty of grass (no dry spots) and the bunkers are in great shape. Golf staff in pro shop is great.

Greens are OK but the rest of the course is rough to take. My cart needed four wheel drive in most areas. Anywhere off the fairway is brutal. I play here with my wife (beginner) and she likes it.

This course is in good condition right now and the greens roll true and smooth. Accuracy is a bonus as many of the holes have narrow fairways with trees on both sides. There is water to contend with on a few holes that require stategy for the risk/reward benefits. The back 9 is the longer and more difficult of the course and has rolling hills and some elevated greens that are challenging.
