This course, although not long at all, is quite difficult and requires a bit of thought and precise shots to shoot an acceptable score.
My first time playing so had to learn the hard way about the hazards and yardages to avoid them.
17 the #1 handicap is a bit over the top for difficulty and i think would leave most golfers frustrated.
Greens were fantastic and fast fairways and T box’s were good

The answer is Yes, it has one of the best courses in MO just keeps getting better

We were a Threesome and had a father and son join us on #1. Dad wasn’t playing yesterday, just his son.
We played from the gold T’s we are all 65 or older
I started playing when i was 23, and yesterday I had the privilege of watching a 10 year old play the best round of golf of anyone I have ever played with.

T to green in excellent condition, as good as i have ever seen it
A shorter course with sneaky breaks on the greens and challenging par
3’s and its finishing hole #18 a beautiful par 5 that requires 3 good shots for a chance at a birdie putt, bogies being more common.

T box’s, fairways and greens in great shape best I’ve seen in some time.
Rough was really long, we have had some heavy rains And that could be the reason, but fairways were well groomed? sorry to say i had reason to walk to much of that rough on a very hot day and the rough was dry and hard but saw no mowers on the course and it was a Monday, so not sure what was going on
Worst thing was not a drop of drinking water on the course with a heat index of 110 the four of us were
Cooked at the end of our round, they were giving bottled water out free of charge at the club house when we checked in, but did not tell us the reason for doing it was so that we might possibly survive the round if we took a bottle with us. Water on the course on a really hot day is a must have !!!!

My favorite layout in the area, play it almost every week…. very challenging !!!

I hear a lot of complaints about pace of play, and yes
Sometimes groups get backed up on this course mainly because golfers play the wrong T box. On this course if your not a 13 handicap or lower you need to be on the gold tees this course has plenty of challenges without playing off the whites, blues or blacks, its not Your grandmas course, it was designed to kick your butt and help you learn to be a better player, also play ready golf its not the PGA Championship……hit the darn ball already !!!!! And quit ball hawking in the brush for ten minutes on a hole, throw another one down and hit it

They keep there rates very very competitive
So if you want to pay $15 more per round they could
Spread the t times out, add 3 rangers to yell at the ball hawkers, and a starter to make everyone play as a foursome and make singles and twosomes play together.
My point is for a price point of $19 to $25 on weekdays with this quality of a course your not going to beat it anywhere. So take it upon yourself to play quickly and allow faster groups to play through.
Oh and fix your own ball mark and two more on every green.

Putt a little slower than some but they roll true I just always enjoy a round of golf here Staff very friendly and helpful

A lot of fun to play and in great shape wide fairways but some shallow elevated. Greens can be a challenge , always in great shape, players need to fix their ball marks

Challenging course, plenty of dog legs some elevation changes big trees line most fairways
But fairways are generous, Plenty of T box’s for all ages and abilities

Older course but in very good shape Large Oak Trees line the generous fairways.
Greens are fast, try to stay below the pins and soft hands on your chip shots around the greens will provide
You with a lower score.

Usually plays at a fast pace

I enjoy playing here after 12 PM
Your almost always going to finish in 4 hours or less

This course is so unique and is so beautiful
One Mans dream to Design and build a course and what a fantastic job he did, set in the bluffs over looking the Mississippi River bottoms it’s truly one of the most original and challenging designs I have ever played, the way the course was designed to maximize the natural beauty of the landscape makes this course a gem.
It’s such a shame, it seems that interest in the course has been lost, the Greens have been ignored and it looks as though a broken down irrigation system and Dollar Spot Fungus has taken its tole. The Fareways are Great although a bit long for my liking and the T box’s are a little rough, but I’ve seen a lot worse, but the Greens on this magnificent course just make me want to cry, what a shame, what a loss, if the Greens were good, even though it’s a 50 plus mile drive for me I would play this course weekly, it’s what golf is all about. My Brother and I played on 7/16 and had a great and relaxing day. If you have not played this course you need to, even with its problems, it’s a wonderful place to play a round of golf.

This just a fun course to play, harder to score than the card would lead you to believe
As usual they have it in Great shape fairways and Greens are perfect the T Boxes need some TLC
but I’ve seen much worse.

Bear Creek is a challenging layout and is in great shape T to Green they were having a lot of trouble with there bunkers draining, but looks like they have that problem under control now and the bunker were dry and machine raked.
