Great Course

This is the 4th time I've played here. Great time, great weather, but the ocean breeze is strong in the afternoon. The speed of play is fast and I like that. The only real complaint, which is minor, is that the drink cart takes off too early and even when she is cruising around, you rarely see her. The marshal was great and managing the course well every time I've been there. There are a few blind holes where it is easy to hit up on the group in front of you.

Slow and hot

I liked the course over-all, if I wasn't waiting so long for each shot. The front nine took 2.5 hours and the heat was close to unbearable at 97F. The back nine was a bit faster because, I think, the older folks had trouble with the heat and bailed. The course was in good condition and the greens were really fast. The sand was deep and well kept. The fareways were narrow and in good condition, but also quite hard. The rough was patchy grass and cement gutters.

Marshal was clueless

We got out for a Twilight Session at 1500 on Thursday -No GPS. We pull our cart up prior to the Friar's tunnel to be greated with the Marshal that stated both Presidio and Friars are wide open. We chose Friars. On hole #1 tee, we saw that there was a two-some at the 150 mark and a four-some just finishing their putting. No big deal. We golfed the first 2 holes, skipped #3 and #4, then hit 5-9 fairly quickly. Then, we hit 5 holes on Presidio before it got dark. We had a blast but be ready to skip holes to keep a good pace.

Nice course

We played on Saturday 10/12/13 at 1030. Course was wet from the previous rain fall, but greens were fast. There are 3 sets of 9 holes and we playes the Oaks to Stone. Both courses have lots of character and quite a few shots are blind, so bringing your own GPS would help with navigating your shots. The renovation of the "19th hole" that was recently completed is a huge plus, yet a bit pricey for food/drinks. Since the rate of play was good, it was easy for me to get into my rhythmn and have fun.

Slow / Overbooked

They over book this course like crazy. Dawn, the "Starter" is crass. 3.5hrs for the front 9 and we walked off.
