Sewailo Golf Club
Played On 05/17/2018Details is Swell!
Sewailo is a beautiful course. Greens are superb with enough undulation to test even the best green readers. Tee to green on most holes is an adventure as many shots are blind. Over every hill is another adventure. Fairways are in decent shape - some dry spots with little grass but the majority of fairways ensure good lies. Water- water everywhere - again increase the challenge of this course. Slightly overpriced but fun (with a healthy dose of frustration) to play. Highly recommend every golfer to experience it!
Tubac Golf Resort - Rancho/Otero
Played On 10/01/2015Still TinCup's home!
Played Otero/Anza courses 2X this week (Rancho course currently closed for overseed). It was afternoon, so was hot with nice breeze that didn't affect play. Course in pretty good shape; greens excellent - ball rolls smoothly!! Only issues encountered were the leaves near edges of fairways and just off fairways (hard to find a ball that got near the edge of some Anza fairways). Beautiful course in both layout and scenery. RECOMMEND HIGHLY!!
The Golf Club at Dove Mountain - Saguaro/Tortolita
Played On 09/21/2015Unbelieveably beautiful course
Played in the Arizona drizzle on this fantastic course. Even though they were nearing shutdown for overseed, the course was in great condition. Greens undulate a lot and you are always hitting towards an uphill or downhill target plus desert and barrancas. Some wide fairways, some narrow with ugly, ugly rough. Stunning views of mountains and the Tucson valley.
Sewailo Golf Club
Played On 09/17/2015WOW-One of best around Tucson
Great course - well manicured fairways and rough; super greens. Water, water everywhere! All water features clear water without algie or smell. Rolling fairways (with lots of doglegs) with undulating greens make for a challenging experience. Unusual for So. AZ, sand traps are full of real sand!! Overall: a challenging, but manageable course that is visually appealing. Every staff member we met was friendly, helpful and cheerful. Highly recommend!!
San Ignacio Golf Club
Played On 09/14/2015Don't waste your $$
This course completed a "rejuvenation" in August 2015 (3 weeks ago). Not sure whether to classify the fairways as cow pastures or a goat ranch. Fairways have way too much open dirt (i.e., no grass). They are scheduled to start overseed on Wed 9/16 but started tearing up fairways on Monday, 9/14. On 16th fairway, there were 7 vehicles (tractors, mowers, carts, etc.) working in middle of fairway - workers seemed oblivious to golfers - finally just had to hit into them to get them to move! Positive note - green are fabulous (as long as you're not expecting table top greens!!). $31 green fees paid to GolfNow were a waste......... Will not play there EVER again - too many decent courses in the area.
Silverbell Municipal Golf Course
Played On 09/19/2014Too much rain, grass too long
Usually a great course, hadn't been cut due to rain. course maintenance crew mowing mid-late morning. Huge grass clumps everywhere - made course more challenging than it neded to be. Otherwise, course in great shape!
Quail Creek Golf Club - Coyote/Road Runner Course
Played On 12/30/2012Great course, great people = great afternoon of golf!
I played the Roadrunner 9 and the Quail 9. Roadrunner is very open and very challenging - no flat spaces. Green are all new. Quail is very different with tree-lined fairways with a couple of holes on lakes to add to the challenge. Both are perfectly manicured. This particular day was very windy, so the greens were very fast and fairways even harder to stay on - made for a challenging afternoon. Also have beautiful views of the Santa Rita Mtns throughout the course.
Haven at Haven Public Golf Club
Played On 12/26/2012Good course in great shape - has its challenges!
The Havens is a moderately challenging course located in Green Valley, AZ. Fairways and greens are in exellent conditions - grass on both is fantastic!
We apologize if you found the course a little less than spectacular. We are right in the middle of our over seeding process where we must kill all the Bermuda grass before we over seed with Rye. We hope that you will return after the over seeding to see the course for what it really is. We appreciate the feedback.
