Good option

This course was a pleasant surprise. Wasn't really expecting much. Layout was good. Fairly open but a few challenging holes. Definitely long course if you play from the tips. Some of the greens were in rough shape but for the most part they were good just extremely slow. And I mean extremely slow. The only other big knock that I have on it is there was no water available on the holes. In Florida during summer that's not really acceptable even if you have a cart girl.

Very disappointed

I had heard really good things about this course and knew it was a Donald Ross design so my expectations were high. To say the experience fell.short of expectations is the understatement of the year. The fairways were absolutely horrible. Huge patches of dirt everywhere everywhere. The layout itself is very bland. No real character at all. The rough was way down which is good I guess for some people but I was hoping for more of a challenge since there really isn't much challenge in the layout So this was a negative to me. The greens were in decent shape although much slower than it's lower than I expected and that's the only reason for the overall rating of 2. Otherwise it would be a one. It wasn't insanely expensive but even at 40 something dollars it was not worth the money.

Way overpriced for what you get

I played this course before so I knew it wasn't anything special. A pretty generic layout and a small town beach course. Having said that the price was fifty bucks for 18 holes which I think is extremely high knowing the course. On top of that the course was in horrible condition. Most of the greens were covered with a fungus or some kind of virus and some greens had gigantic craters in them 2 or 3 in deep from whatever it was. It was impossible to even put on some greens they were so bad. You couldn't even find a line that had grass all the way to the hole. Definitely Andover price course but also the only option in that small area. Hello I would drive to Panama City and play a nice course if I did it over again. For the same money too.

Amazing course

I played this course a few times but it is probably been 15 years. It is still a fantastic course with three different nines. I played 19 through 27 and then one through nine. They were extremely different layouts in that one was fairly open and one was extremely tight... for me at least. Both mines were in fantastic shape though. The fairways oh, the waist areas, the bunkers, the greens, and anything else. They had several water stations complete with cups, ice and water which was a fantastic bonus this time of year. The staff was extremely friendly and everything was great from start to finish. I'm pretty picky about courses but would definitely recommend this one.

Horrible experience

First of all I have played this course before and in general know what type of course it is. It is a very tight short Beach course so I really don't expect c a TPC level Golf Course. Now, having said this $50 to play that type of course is way too much money in my opinion. It was a once-a-year thing with my dad though so I decided to spend the money. The course was in horrendous conditions. Half of the greens were not only covered with sand but had craters in them from something. I heard it was nematodes. The greens and fringes were absolutely horrendous on half of the holes. Considering the rest of the course is nothing special the fact that this was $50 was ridiculous. The only upside is the people were extremely friendly and always are but that doesn't make a course worth $50 in my opinion. No way they should have been charging that. Course should be discounted down to 30 at most. Next time I would drive to Panama City and play a much nicer course there for about the same money.

Decent track

The course was well-maintained and in good condition. Greens were pretty decent. Not fast but not slow. It's a very tiny area of land so all of the holes are right on top of each other which isn't super appealing to me. Also, there was no starter and there were players playing fivesomes on the course. Two fivesomes actually. All & all though it's a nice little course and worth a try if you've never played it as long as you get a decent deal. Oh, and the course itself is a short track but has some tight drives and second shots. Good test of golf if you don't always hit it straight.

Wait a week or two

I haven't played the South course in a while but have always loved it. Amazing layout and just great facility in general. The course isn't and it's best shape right now though since they put a couple of weeks ago so I would wait another 2 weeks before I played it and then it should be back in great shape.

Great course but...

I played this course a few times and I have definitely seen it in better shape but it is still pretty amazing especially if you get a hot deal. We've gotten a lot of rain recently and the bunkers were pretty washed out. Some had a bunch of standing water in them and some just looked pretty rough even though the water had drained out. There are a few patches around the greens or on the edges of the fairways where it looks like they had some kind of fungus hit but overall greens and Fairways are fantastic. I haven't played the South course in a while but my understanding is the North Course is a little more open than the South course. I think they actually just closed the North Course and opened the South course.

Not even worth the hot deal money

I called ahead to check on conditions of the couse and they said it was in great shape. It had been punched about two weeks before but greens were good. I got out there and there were still giant holes all over the place in the greens. Some of them didn't even have any sand in them. The rest of the course was in its normal condition which isn't great but normally worth the money. I got a great deal and it still wasn't worth it though this day. I wish Pro Shops would just be honest and then I might try again. I won't be going back there.
