Loch March Golf and Country Club
Played On 09/14/20185 Hour+ Round
We booked for a 12:36 Tee time and figured that, with carts, we'd have no problem finishing in 4 hours or thereabouts. As my son, who was in town for one of his friends weddings (in the wedding party) needed to be in Manotick for 6:30 for the groom's pre-wedding supper, we thought this would give us ample time to get him back to our house so that he could shower and change before driving to the supper. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to us, they had a mini tournament booked just before our tee time and, although we had been assured that as they were playing a scramble, it would move ahead quite quickly, we ended up having to wait on every tee box and for every second and third shot. Consequently, at 5:40 P.M. we had just finished hole 17 and could see that the 4-some ahead of us still hadn't teed off on 18. Consequently, we ended up skipping 18 and racing to get my son home. Never once did we see a marshal trying to hurry the groups ahead of us along. It's a beautiful course, but they should manage the players better
Stittsville Golf Course
Played On 08/07/2014Great course conditions-challenging Par 3's
Had a great round there this week. Weather & course conditions were excellent! The course is fairly challenging with some interesting holes including the signature 18th horseshoe shaped green. A couple long Par 3's (180 & 190 yds from the whites) ensure that you have to be able to drive accurately in order to score well. Total ydage. from the whites is 6132.
The Majors Golf Club at Bayside Lakes
Played On 04/14/2014Great Layout, but needs work,
This Arnold Palmer designed course is very challenging with tough to read greens and lots of diagonally sloping fairways. Although still in fair shape, it does look like maintenance is becoming an issue, especially as far as the fairway conditions. There appears to be a need for weed control and more extensive watering. Still, for the price well worthwhile!
Mallards Landing Golf Course at Melbourne
Played On 9/14/2013Decent course with challenging water hazzards
Although this is a typically flat, wide open Florida course, the placement of water hazards makes it interesting. Be sure to look at the course map when choosing your clubs.
Amberwood Village Golf and Country Club
Played On 8/28/2013Good learner's course
A very short 9 hole course that only plays moderately challenging from the blues and then only on a couple of holes. Rate of play can be very slow as well due to the number of new and elderly golfers. Only recommended if you just want to get out and hit a few and then only if you get a good GolfNow rate.
Crane Creek Reserve Golf Course at Melbourne
Played On 2/21/2013Wide open friendly course
A fairly easy, flat course with little chance of losing balls, unless you put the ball in one of the multiple water hazards. Fairways are wide and the rough is fairly short. A few of the Par 5's are challenging, although it is quite possible to score well on these as well. A great confidence booster.
