Port Colborne Country Club
Played On 08/24/2021Hot August Day
I have played this cottage style course many time over my career ( I'm in my 70s now) and only one thing has changed besides my ability. It has always been fun to play, flat in nature with its lakeside location, but a nice variety of holes. The overall condition of the course was the best I can remember and the threescore that traveled over 30 km to play PCCC with me thoroughly enjoyed the game there. The greens were fast and true . We will be returning when the weather cools off.
King's Forest Golf Course
Played On 09/14/2018A Day Well Spent
Played with 3 relatives and friends. We loved the layout and the pace of play. Our only complaint were the shaggy greens which hadn't been cut or the holes moved in a day or two. That was evident. It was a little pricey for the time of year, but that said,, a day that otherwise was great.
Willodell Golf Club of Niagara
Played On 07/05/2018Good Day
Had a good day playing a nice, friendly golf course. The weather was hot and humid,so water intake was crucial. The course was in great shape with soft fairways and smooth, quick greens. We will definitely play there again because it is affordable and enjoyable to play.
Mystic Golf Club
Played On 06/26/2018Impressive
Wow! Haven't played the course in 10 years and now sorry I haven't. First let me say the clubhouse is still a trailer and the washroom resembled a port a potty. The driving range needs a makeover, and a cart person would be highly recommended. However the rest if the review is very positive. The course was in exceptional condition except for some overused tees( silver) and poorly drained bunkers. Visually, the course is stunning. The fairways were immaculate, and the greens expansive and undulating, and great to putt. A power cart is mandatory and needed, and the cart paths are well paved. I highly recommend you play the tees that suit your handicap because of some expansive carries over many gullies, and in those and in the woods...forget about finding your ball. The red hazard stakes are plentiful. great track, but don'y set your expectations too high,at least the first time.
Country Club of Whispering Pines - River Course
Played On 05/08/2017First Game of 2017
My wife and I played on a hot afternoon. The Pines course was very busy due to school tournament. We found the River course to be in average conditions except for good greens. We played in about 3 hours, which was great. We even had time for a post game drink in the clubhouse, with a friendly server. All in all a good first game experience.
Foxfire Resort & Golf Club - Grey Fox Course
Played On 11/13/2016home sweet home
I've played this resort course for 40 years, starting in the late seventies. The layout has gone from 27 holes to its present 36. It has changed in so far as many of the beautiful pine trees that border its fairways and condos have been lost to storms or old age. A shame! However the courses, both the Red (original) and the Grey( new nine) have only become more mature and as always, very playable and yet challenging. Most fairways are fairly wide, the approaches to greens slightly elevated ,and the flat surfaces well contoured and fairly fast and true. It has seen many ownership changes over the years, and has struggled to survive, but it is still a course well worth the short drive from Pinehurst. The value is outstanding. I am Canadian.
Hunters Pointe Golf Course
Played On 08/20/2016Great Day
I booked the tee time the day before, and it suited our need. The day was steamy, but we expected that. We were greeted by the staff, and our day went without a hitch. The course was fun to play and in good shape, and well worth what we paid. My only complaint was the newly renovated holes that we hadn't played before, and they weren't well marked out, since they were blind tee shots The cart paths ware dusty( hated to be the trailing cart) and bumpy and need to be addressed as well. All in all a great day
Port Colborne Country Club
Played On 08/07/2016Great Day
I booked through Golf Now 2 days before as a hot deal. It was great! My foursome thoroughly enjoyed the golf, the condition of the course, despite the recent lack of rain, and the price was well worth the half hour drive. We even had a great lunch afterwards, with fast, friendly service. The clubhouse sandwich was the best I've ever had. We will definitely return, hopefully this golf season.
Legends on the Niagara Golf Course - Battlefield
Played On 05/03/2015Great Bay
My wife and I took another couple to play Battlefield for the first time, We all loved it and will play there again after we try some other courses first. Great value!
Glad to hear you and your wife enjoyed Battlefield. Ussher's Creek is just as good! See you again this season
Southern Pines Golf Club
Played On 04/08/2015A real Treasure!
A great layout in fantastic shape, and well worth the $. The only drawback were the clouds of pine pollen, and the pace of play, but since we were behind a couple of 4somes, we couldn't complain, since it was a beautiful day to play. We will be back!
Talamore Golf Resort
Played On 04/06/2015Always a pleasre!
Having played Talamore on many occasions, I have always marvelled at its beauty and challenge ( probably the toughest starting hole I've ever played). My only disappointment this trip was the condition of many of the greens that had patches of disease. A real shame! Otherwise it was great to play there with my wife, and I will play there again, if they don't price themselves too high.
Little River Golf & Resort
Played On 04/04/2015Disappointed
My wife and I came to Pinehurst for a week, I played the course several years ago, and loved it then. My wife had never played it. We were disappointed from the onset by the lack of interest by the staff at bag drop ( we loaded, and unloaded by ourselves), as well as the pro shop person who was disinterested in our being there. There was no direction from any starter, since there didn't seem to be one in sight. We teed off when we thought we should go, and there was no one around that cared. Now the course- lousy condition, shaggy tees, no grass, and poorly marked for distances. The only saving grace were the greens, which were quite good compared to the rest of the course. We decided to have a beer after our game, and the bartender was polite and attentive. That was the only saving grace of an otherwise disappointing day. We won't be playing there again unless major changes are made.
We very much look forward to having you back
