Great test of golf

First time playing this course. It is a very challenging course. I am 70+ so I usually play white tees, but on this course I did not have the length. Joined up with a lady who plays there regularly and she alerted me to some of the pitfalls, but this is a course that needs GPS on the carts, especially for those playing it for the first time. My playing partner said they did have them at one time. Got a good deal from GolfNow, but had to pay extra for range balls. Good range - nice grass and unlimited balls, but on most high end courses, this is usually included. Did not eat at the restaurant, but heard good reviews. Friendly staff. Other than the fact that it beat me up, I enjoyed it. There was little wind and I was told it can get very windy and I don't think I could play it on one of those days.

A crying shame

What a beauty this course must have been in its earlier days. Too bad they located it in the wind tunnel, as any course would have been difficulty in the howling wind we experienced, and I am sure this is the reason it has fallen on hard times. The wind also drops the temperature by quite a bit and I had to dig for my jacket. The course is not in THAT bad a shape, just lacking the grooming that a RTJ Jr. course deserves. Greens are firm and fast with plenty of undulations. Interesting #9/#18 combined green with a trap in the middle which looks dumb until you see the 45 degree slope on both side to catch the unwary. If it is possible to find a windless day there, the green fees are very reasonable and it is a challenging layout

Still one of the better values in Palm Springs

Some tricky pins, but not bad shape for the amount of traffic it gets. Got lucky and hit a day with no waiting - very rare. With a low Canadian $, this course helps the budget.

Hard pan fairways

Extremely hard packed fairways. Extra length off tees, but clubs had a tendency to bounce off the ground. Tree in front of #10 green is ridiculous.

Nice course

This is the best course in Palm Springs, but many comparable courses in nearby areas. Definitely got a better rate by booking through Golfnow, so thanks for that.
