Highlands of Elgin
Played On 05/30/2020Nice course
Course was dry and greens were nice. Several other more expensive courses in the area were water logged. This is a nice course course that allows you to use every club in your bag. I’ll definitely be back.
Stony Creek Golf Course
Played On 03/15/2020Solid course for a tune up
Staff was sooo pleasant. On a cold morning, I was greeted with a smile and put out on the course quickly. Got in my 18 in 2 hours flat playing 2 balls per hole. Course is short with a lot of par 3 but more than enough par 4s for those that like to pull the driver out. A lot of beer cans and cases left around the course - I think groups go out later in the day - and I assume it’s these groups that did the damage to the greens I noticed. Aside from that, the course provided a solid venue to work with every club in my bag.
Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane
Played On 06/22/2016Nice course but the greens frustrate me!
I play this course about once a week. It's a good price when you use golf now. Out can usuall get 18 with a cart for between 20 and 40 if you are flexible with your time. I walk this course - not too hilly or tough on the knees. My one complaint is that the greens are TOUGH! Never never never be above the hole here. A 2 putt is considered good in most people's opinion. They seem to be watering the greens more this summer so they aren't quite as fast some days. Play required a mix of club choice- can't hit driver on every hole. Being straight certainly helps here Course is well kept. I've seen multiple deer, a fox and even had a red tail hawk land on the green next to me this week. Beautiful course. Pace of play is ok. I've noticed a Marshall the last few times on the course. Earlier prices are cheaper so I think it may speed up midday when prices go up (and it's warmer)- so fewer people are. out.
