Aliante Golf Course
Played On 02/18/2023What’s the point when every time says “Resident”?
Come on GN…all the times are “Resident”…what’s the point of GN? I had to make up a rating and when I played. You’ve gotta be better than this GN.
Toka Sticks Golf Club
Played On 03/12/2022It’s a Muni
Yup. It’s just a muni course. Nothing special, but okay. Fairways were generally good and greens were in good shape. The back nine is superior to the front with some nice layouts and the greens were good. It’s not a fabulous course, but it is fairly priced for the current market. We’d play again. Just don’t have $200 expectations for a $70 course.
Ocotillo Golf Club - White/Gold
Played On 03/08/2022Course in superior condition
Very nice course, that you better know your club distances. For first time players, I would recommend a players guide (if they have one), or hopefully you play with knowledgeable partners. Lots of water, lots of carrying water. Greens and fairways in excellent condition, and rough good and playable. Not the standard dead grass rough. Greens are quick, but hold well and putt true. Highly recommend. If you are not an Arcis member, make sure you join and enjoy the cheaper rate. I just wish someone had told me about that.
Superstition Springs Golf Club

Played On 02/26/2022Basic course but a nice play
Just straight ahead Fred. No real thinking required, just pull out the Big Dog and go hunt. Fairways wide and in good shape; greens mostly of the mounded variety, but quite good shape. Greens were pretty quick and rolled true. It’s not the PGA West, but a nice track for a average Joe or Jocelyn.
Indian Canyons Golf Resort - North Course
Played On 02/17/2022Tired but still an enjoyable course
Yup, it’s getting old like me, but still an enjoyable track. They are letting the fairway bunkers go to grass, but not really a big drawback. The fairways are tight enough without the bunkers anyways. Fairways are in good shape and the greens are not great, but they hold well and putt true. Lovely homes along the course that are close enough, but no one in our foursome even came close to hitting one. Staff are very nice D the pace of play was good. Teed off at 1050 and played right at 4 hours with a beginner in the group. We will come back.
Lakeside Golf Club
Played On 05/06/2021Painted Mountain Golf Club
Played On 03/08/2020Greens fairly hard
Good enough course. Front nine is fairly long, and the back quite short (Par 33). Fairways are fairly wide and in pretty good shape. The greens generally looked good, but in spite of being quite hard, putted fairly slow. Took a bit to figure them out, but we enjoyed the course. Houses can come into play on multiple holes. The staff was very nice and worked to make the day enjoyable.
Old Works
Played On 08/08/2019Great, as expected
Take a quick spin off the I-15 and enjoy the Old Works. Wide fairways, no homes to worry about and quick greens. Well worth the time. Oh yeah and the traps!
Old Works
Played On 08/08/2019Nice setting
Who would think an EPA Superfund site could be so nice? Jack has used some of the old foundations as a back drop for a great tack. Wide fairways, a bit tricky greens, and you have to love the black “sand” traps. Great experience and an interesting town to visit post round.
Indian Canyons Golf Resort - North Course
Played On 03/01/2019Seldom disappointed
Very enjoyable course. Fairways a quite wide and in good condition. Greens are fairly fast but not stupid and they held approach shots. Like many courses around, the traps could use a bit more sand but they were ok. Teed off at 7:30 and completed the round in 4 hours. There was a marshall making the rounds as well, keeping the speed up. We’ll be back.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Champions Course
Played On 02/26/2019Break out the driver
Very wide fairways, with no annoying homes to give you any reason not to bring out the Big Dog...every single par 4 and 5. Don’t go in the bunkers as they reminded me of bomb craters. Deep and nasty. Greens rolled fast and true, with some big swings. Overall a fun course. Not the courses fault, but sadly we played behind a Cactus Tour event and these young ladies were painfully slow... 6 hour round. Those ladies are going to have to figure out how to play quicker if they ever make the LPGA.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting. We hope to see you again in the future.
Palm Desert Country Club
Played On 02/24/2019Not a fancy resort but solid
We quite enjoyed the golf at Palm Desert CC. It’s not fancy, but well kept with greens I would rate 8/10. Not real fast but well kept and playable. Houses only come into play on a couple holes and you still need to be particularly wild to hit one. Good layout with no two holes looking alike. We would recommend it.
We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. It is great to see you had an enjoyable time on the course and we hope you join us for another round soon.
Mojave Resort Golf Club
Played On 10/14/2017Great track
We played on a very windy day, but very much enjoyed the round. Wide fairways, nice shape, good greens. Traps and water came into play but were fair. Not much sand in the traps, but playable. Greens weren't real fast but very consistent. All in all well worth playing.
Strathmore Golf Club
Played On 09/27/2017Late season golf
Decided to play Strathmore due to the outstanding Golfnow deal. Hadn't played here for about 6-7 years. Still a great track for a prairie town. Course has a wide variety of holes...nothing repetitive. Greens are interesting and receptive to good shots. As it was late in the season, they were a bit shaggy, but wadda want for $15?? I have played many way more expensive courses which are poorer or equivalent. The front nine is the older nine and plays a bit longer. The back nine has quite a few great risk and reward opportunities. I found the back in better shape and quite fun. Head out there, it's well worth the trip.
River Spirit Golf Club - Cattails/Spirit Course
Played On 09/11/2017Hit it straight
Very good course with greens in excellent condition. We played Spirit/Millburn nines. Walked both nines, and Millburn was the tougher walk, but certainly doable. A bit of up and down into the river valley. Greens were true and quick. Ball held well. Traps have white sand, but not lots of it, thankfully. The Millburn nine is somewhat tighter, with loads of poplar/cottonwoods. Playing the Blue tee box made for some long par 4s. My wife played the reds, and found them a bit repetitive...150/150 to the green. They need to make a Blue/White combo and a Red/White combo, to mix it up a bit. Enjoyable round and would recommend it.
Escena Golf Club
Played On 03/13/2017Excellent course
Very much enjoyed the course. Wide fairways, with some homes, but almost never in play. The greens were very good, quick and predictable. All in all, I would recommend playing whenever you are in Palm Springs area.
Cimarron Golf Club - Boulder Course
Played On 03/11/2017Nice track, well maintained
This is a good track, with excellent greens. Average cost wise, for a one off round, but if you are staying in the area for any length of time, they have good package deals for multiple rounds. Play early in your stay and pick up one of their packages. Unlike most courses in Palm Springs area, there are very few homes around the course, so a great place to play if you are a bit wild off the tee box. A couple homes only come into play on one hole. Overall, a very nice option, with excellent greens and well maintained.
