Probably the worst managed course in Illinois.

This used to be a beautiful course. It was built in 1910 or 11, and for a long time was one of the Premier 9-hole courses in Northern Illinois. A few years before it went private, they added another nine holes, and it was very challenging, but poorly layed out.

The latest owner, a not very good businessman whose only real interest is his wedding chapel, does not have a greenskeeper, has only a bunch of kids who don't know the game doing the mowing. The hole locations are replaced about every 3 or 4 weeks, the tee blocks hardly ever (unless the players themselves do it), and heaven help you if they're mowing the green and you're on the tee On a par 3 because you're going to be waiting until they're done. Apparently the owner is on a COD basis with his vendors, and he has no budget to spray or do any of the normal maintenance that a golf course requires. Right now the dandelions are all over the place, and crabgrass and Creeping Charlie is starting to encroach in the fairways. The sand traps are unplayable and filled with weeds and rocks. Most of the greens have a lot have a lot of problems, with some areas being un-puttable. And after three weeks with the same hole locations, the areas around the holes are all dead and the lips on the holes or all torn up.

All this being said, the guy still charges 35 bucks for a round, and is too stupid to hook up with golf now or any of the other online booking sites that would help him generate more business. If they charged 20 bucks a round, he probably do 50 or 60 rounds a day. As for me, I doubt I'll ever play there again unless it's free.
