This is one of the most aesthetically pleasing courses I’ve ever played
The numerous sand traps complimented by large water hazards all combined to make for a challenging round of golf
The fairways were immaculate and the greens rolled true. The staff was very helpful and friendly
I had a wonderful day

Tha courselayout was good, the fairways decent, but get to the green and Holy Cow what a mess!
I don’t know why people using this course and paying premium green fees would not take care in repairing ball marks. I think some of these marks were days old and not repaired by morning groundskeepers. Pete Dye dunes course is a much better bang for your buck

Setting up for you second shot is a good idea on this challenging course with generous landings for your tee shots. The real challenge lies in landing the green in regulation. Sand, water and waste area abound as you near the undulating greens. Once on, varying slope and speed of the green can frustrate even the most accomplished golfer. The Fun is in the challenge!
Making par or birdie is cause for celebration on Terra Lago North and I look forward to many more challenges and celebrations there in the future

I loved putting these greens, like a pool table.
Aesthetically speaking the fairways were brown but that did not affect ball contact
What hurt my game was the extreme steepness of the sand traps around the greens. I’d play here again, but put a little more attention to course management of my targets to avoid sand and water.

Frost delay delayed our tee time 30 minutes
A harried cart/starter could improve his social skills
Once off the first tee we enjoyed a pleasant round, fairways were good, greens very slow.
Played the round in 4 hours 15 minutes

Beautiful manicured fairways and greens with a little environmental stewardship, leaving areas natural to promote regional wildlife.
The greens were cut for a easy paced ball roll eliminating a lot of potential 3 putts
Our round took four hours and forty minutes, pace was inconsistent. At Some tees we were waiting for five minutes and on other holes we were able to hit immediately. Did not see any Marshalls during the round.
The deviously placed sand traps captured my ball more than I had hoped so I had many opportunities to practice my sand game. The sand in the traps needed to be replenished ; pick shots worked well but a lofted shot hit from a trap near the green was difficult to blast with the sand and get a soft landing.
All in all I enjoyed playing the Palm Course at Desert Springs and would recommend it to friends

The course itself had fast, true greens, a challenging layout that gave me more sand experience than I had bargained for. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. I paired up with two other singles who were also first timers at Oak Creek CC. and we were able to easily navigate our way throughout the course. The course meanders through the Red Rocks of Sedona in an unobtrusive and natural looking
Golfscape. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and hope to return in the near future

I spent 20 minutes on the practice green
Getting a feel for the speed of the greens
Went on the course and the greens were all recently sanded ( not the practice green)
So putting speed became my issue.
Fairways and tees played great
Speed of play before first sunset after daylight savings time was a bit slow
But for the price I got for the hot deal it was well worth it

This course gave me all I could handle with its layout. The greens were not the best, bumpy on some, inconsistent green speed from hole to hole. Need more sand in traps. But worthwhile checking out

This course challenges all your skills ; requiring accuracy, distance, and putting savvy to successfully negotiate this scenic beauty! I had a fabulous round, not by stroke count but in total appreciation of the courses design and the obstacles presented. I experienced it all, the sand, the desert, and on many occasions the fairways, to a lesser degree the greens in regulation. It was busy and the staff and starter seemed harried by the final flood of Golfers trying to tee off and make 18 before sunset. Once I had teed off all was good.

Beautiful course, line up your putt on the correct path and you can expect little to no break. The rolls were very predictable and the Greens were a comfortable speed; with the ball rarely rolling too far past the hole. Speed of play was slow on the front about 2:45 but the back side sped up so we finished our round in 4 1/2 hours, about 20 minutes before sundown
All in all a very enjoyable round of golf!

Course was challenging and deceptive, following a straight tee shot you realize the path of least resistance may not have been ideal for your approach shot. Approaching the elevated greens presented club selection issues ( 1 or 2 club extra) for me and if I was short the bounce was unpredictable. Really enjoyed the lay of the land and will definitely make a return appearance

Little dog legs, strategically placed traps and hazards contributed to an enjoyable and challenging round. Green speed was somewhat inconsistent, probably due to recent punching and sanding not this golfer!!

The worst part of Whispering Firs is getting through the JBLM security gate!
I had great difficulty understanding the gentleman processing my visitors pass's English, and for that he took exception, chastising me for being impatient. Thank goodness for his English proficient co-workers intervening when he mistakenly identified me as my 25 year old son and said I was not allowed to drive on base! The guard at the gate has an m-16 looking automatic weapon that was somewhat disconcerting but understandable.
Once we arrived we were treated to a great round of uncrowded golf, The fairway grass was still green and firm with the greens being lightening fast. We stopped for food at nine(3:15) and learned that they close at 4:30 and the only hot food they serve between 3:00 and 4:30 are hotdogs and after 4:30 you're out of luck !! We finished our front nine in 1:45
and the back nine in 2 hours.

The putting surface was fabulous, consistent, and challenging. Fairways were hard and dry:divots were rare. No liquor license made the 19th hole a road trip!
